We had a great time at St. Paul's Senior Services’ annual SUMMERFEST event at Humphreys Concerts by the bay!

It was a fun evening celebrating and raising funds to support the work St. Paul’s does for seniors throughout San Diego!

Today marks one year since the passing of our beloved co-founder, Joy Glenner.

Joy’s compassion and dedication helped shape the Glenner Centers from the very beginning, and her influence can still be felt in the work we do every day. She cared deeply about families affected by dementia and believed they deserved support, understanding and a place where their loved ones would be treated with dignity and respect.

As we remember her today, we remain committed to carrying forward the work she and Dr. Glenner began more than four decades ago and to honoring the legacy she left behind.

We miss you, Joy, and we hope we continue to make you proud.

We had the pleasure of hosting Rev. Donna Vuilleumier, who was visiting San Diego from New Hampshire, for a tour of Town Square® this week!

Her work focuses on spirituality and dementia, and she is currently exploring programs and resources that can help churches and congregations better support individuals living with dementia and their family caregivers. Her research will be part of an upcoming book, "Equipped for Every Good Work: Dementia Resources for Congregational Care".

We loved having the opportunity to share Town Square® and our approach to Reminiscence Therapy with her. Thank you for visiting us, Rev. Vuilleumier. We’re honored to be included in your research and look forward to seeing where this important work takes you!

Time flies! This month marks the 8th anniversary of the opening of Town Square®! What better way to celebrate this milestone than by sharing the story of how it all began?!

As we shared earlier this week, a special documentary about Town Square® will be released to the public on August 25th. The film takes a look at the creation of Town Square® and follows several families on their journeys, sharing the impact this innovative approach to dementia care has had on their lives. More on the documentary release in the coming days!

A great afternoon at USC’s Epstein Family Alzheimer’s Therapeutics Research Institute. Thank you to Dr. Robert Rissman for the warm welcome and behind-the-scenes tour of the research facility.

It was fascinating to learn more about the work Dr. Rissman and his team are doing to advance Alzheimer’s research and develop new therapies. Their work is an important reminder of the progress being made and the reasons to remain hopeful about the future of Alzheimer’s treatment.

San Diego continues to be an important center for Alzheimer’s research and discovery, and we’re fortunate to have researchers like Dr. Rissman and his team doing this work in our community.
