Southwestern College Fire Science Club The Southwestern College Fire Science Club is about Community, Courage, Honor, Dedication, and Giving Back. Supporters are ALWAYS welcome!!!!

Established in 2006 at Southwestern College the Fire Science Club strives to provide training and education to the next generation of fire service professionals while giving back to our community with pride. Now under the direction of Firefighter Kurt Bidinger and Firefighter Kevin Roof our strides are greater than ever. This upcoming year we hope to be as involved as ever within our community by

helping with local projects as well as providing new and exciting training opportunities to our members and supporters alike. If you have information you feel is worth sharing or would like us to get involved with your projects please let us know! We are always ready to lend a helping hand, after all that is what the fire service is about. Membership is open to any Southwestern College student with an interest in the Fire Service and Life Safety Fields. Stay tuned for event information, news, pictures, contests, and more!!!

Greetings All! As you can see, it has been some time since our last post. Please have the President or other Club Officers contact us so I can make them administrators!! I enjoyed my time at SWC as a student, club member, and staffer but now I'd really like to see someone else take charge and update this old group!!

For those interested, CAL-Fire has started accepting applications for Seasonal Firefighter Positions. This video explains the process. Application Period runs from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. Apps must be postmarked no later than November 30, 2017! Good Luck!!!

EMS Week Contest Reminder! It will run through Friday May 25, 2012. So far we only have one entry, e-mail us at [email protected] with the heading CONTEST along with your name, age, level of EMS training, and phone number to enter. It is a 13 question quiz structured off the First Responder knowledge base. The person with the most correct answers will win our Grand Prize along with a second and third place winner.

The questions have been selected! Anyone interested in participating should send us an email at [email protected] with the subject line CONTEST and a body message containing your name, age, level of EMS training and phone number. Contest questions will be sent to you as soon as possible. Answers must be received before Friday at 11:59 pm. Winners will be announced Monday right here on Facebook and on our twitter feed. A grand prize will be awarded to the person with the most correct answers with a second and third prize as well. We are going on the honor system folks, please no cheating.
