HIGH TECH HIGH GRAPHIC NOVEL PROJECT PRESS RELEASE

The High Tech High Graphic Novel Project is proud to announce it's newest and final comic collaboration project "Denial." (Comic trailer: http://youtu.be/5QeXSJW_HgY)
This 24-page one-shot comic, collectively worked on by each of the Graphic Novel Project’s members, centers on Jake, the last man on Earth. Follow Jake as he falls through his past and escapes certain death in this thrilling adventure. The comic is hand bound, in full color and will only be available at San Diego Comic-Con International 2013 in the small press pavilion at booth Q9.

Graphic Novel Project will make its final appearance at San Diego Comic-Con International. After four long years of collaborative work, the Graphic Novel Project will officially end all operations this summer.

“Graphic Novel Project has given me valuable life experiences that no other High School group would have been able to give me and I am glad that I have been given this opportunity,” - Julian Diaz.

Graphic Novel Project has been located in and operated out of High Tech High Chula Vista (http://www.hightechhigh.org/schools/HTHCV/) They can be found at table Q9 in the Small Press Pavilion where the various creators will be there to answer questions, make professional connections, and sell comics!

In addition, the Graphic Novel Project will be hosting the following panel at San Diego Comic-Con International 2013:

3:00pm–4:00pm Creating Comics for All Ages – Victor Flores (High Tech High Graphic Novel Project student host) interviews fellow HTH GNP members and guest professional comic artists, Shane Houghton (Reed Gunther, Peanuts, and Casper’s Scare School) and Chris Houghton (Reed Gunther, Kung-Fu Panda Comics, MAD Magazine, and Adventure Time) about the challenges and advantages of creating comics for all-ages audiences. Room 4

The High Tech High Graphic Novel Project is comprised of students who attend high school, grades 9-12, at High Tech High Chula Vista. HTHGNP is an after-school program that is aimed at the creation and development of professional grade comics. The High Tech High Graphic Novel Project was founded in 2009 founded, with a group of 9th grade students. Students were taught teamwork, comic art & craft, marketing, sales, business planning, and budget balancing.

In those four years the group the students, led by educator Patrick Yurick, worked together on the project and graduated as professionals with a plethora of accolades under their belt.
