People of color in the San Diego area precedes the development of the present downtown area, dating to the Hispanic settlers who founded the Presidio de San Diego in 1769. Individuals from a diversity of ethnic and racial backgrounds were participants in the earliest days of Spanish colonialism in southern Alta California and their influence is imprinted in the history of San Diego. The multicultu

ral community in San Diego continues to play a significant role in every area of this great city and should be recognized for their achievements. We are pleased to announce the Annual edition of San Diego’s Multicultural Vanguard Awards created by Lord, Bush & Randolph (LBR), LLC. LBR has partnered with F***y Miller, CEO of El2 Latino, to honor the achievements of San Diego’s most prominent and influential people of color. The 2016 Multicultural Vanguard Award Committee requests your nomination of individuals who are making a positive impact and exhibit outstanding leadership and service in the San Diego and surrounding communities. Nominations of leading candidates in academics, arts & entertainment, business, civic organizations will be compiled and 100 of the most prominent and influential people of color will be selected. Honorees will be recognized during the Awards Reception on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at the historic Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation located at 404 Euclid Ave, San Diego, CA 92114 from 6:00 p.m. In addition, Honorees will also be featured in commemorative edition of a beautiful 4 color magazine.
