🌱 Congratulations to Elizabeth Cox and Hansen Hunt for co-founding the San Diego Chamber of Connection!

This past July 10th, more than 40 community leaders, hosts, organizers, and nonprofit partners gathered at the Better Business Bureau in San Diego for something we don't get to experience often — a room full of people who build community for a living, finally sitting down to build community with each other.

For two hours, we set aside our job titles and to-do lists. We shared a meal, told the stories behind the dishes we brought, and passed bread to people we'd just met. Because that's the whole idea behind this Chamber: it's not just about "doing" business, it's about "being" with one another — getting to know the human being behind the business partner, not just their title.

So many of us said the same thing that night: how good it felt to just pause, be present, and listen.

Near the end, we each wrote a handwritten postcard to someone who wasn't in the room — someone we believed deserved a place in this community. A simple reminder that community always starts with an invitation.

So here's a question for you: who could you invite this week? ☕ A new neighbor over for coffee. 🥗 A coworker who eats lunch alone. 🤝 Another community leader, to collaborate instead of compete. 📕 Someone into your book club or your next gathering.

Every stronger community starts with someone saying, "There's a place for you here."

We're so grateful to have been part of the founding potluck for the San Diego chapter of the US Chamber of Connection, and we can't wait to see where Elizabeth and Hansen take this next. 💛

The 2026 Installation Dinner at the Ga***rd Pacific Resort in Chula Vista to celebrate 99 Years of Legacy of the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce was a beautiful event. For nearly a century, the Chamber has been more than a business association — it's been a driving force behind a stronger, more inclusive Chula Vista. Nearly 200 of its members are women, minority, or veteran-owned businesses, and the Chamber has worked to ensure those voices are represented in advocacy at the local, state, and national level. It played a key role in the revitalization of downtown Chula Vista, championed sustainable economic development, and has been a steady advocate for community beautification — supporting grants, fundraising, and volunteer efforts for public spaces. Every year, Chamber staff and volunteers roll up their sleeves for bayfront, street, and park clean-up events, reflecting a genuine belief that economic growth and community well-being go hand in hand.

99 years of legacy, and still building a more equitable, sustainable future for Chula Vista.
