This first pic is our dining room, converted garage. We bought floor tiles for the dining room and I think Adela was afraid of losing our good handyman, so she put him to work on that project before the kitchen area was totally finished. So the eating area had to go into the unfinished kitchen. But it will be beautiful in the end.

In July, we donated 320 blankets to people in Tirapata. Winter becomes colder and more extreme in the high Andes, and the blankets are very welcome.

Spanish: En julio, donamos 320 frazadas o cobijas a gente en Tirapata. El invierno es mas frio y mas extremo en las alturas de los Andes, y recibir una frazada es una bendicion.

Recent Events

Devastating floods damaged roads, bridges, buildings, and brought death and destruction to families in Peru in the early months of 2017. In answer to that, we did what we thought was reasonable. We bought equipment for first responders, who are all volunteers, giving their time and money to their fire stations. They are trained in swift-water rescue, and they deserve better equipment than what they have.

Last year we gave away more than 200 blankets. People came from all around to the church yard in Pucará. May, June, and July are winter months in Peru, and in the high mountains, temperatures plunge alarmingly. In the cold winter nights, these blankets can be life savers. They are bought with your generous donations, and the economy is helped. The blankets are made of thick llama wool and are very warm.

If you're retired, have an income and health, why not do missions?

These are birthday months in Abrigo Andino: Rosalia 8/5, Esther 8/27, Cesar 9/1, Vicky 9/8, Humberto 9/15, and so on. Our youngest will be 11. Wish we had some little ones, but no space, and very little personnel. Maybe someday.

Melania is back home again! Our girl with the transplanted kidney is back with us! God is so good!

Time to head back on down south again. Would love to have company if you have a heart for ministry. To see famous sights, book a tour. They will treat you right. We focus on kids and the elderly.
