NRV Bike Kitchen

NRV Bike Kitchen The NRV Bike Kitchen is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We accept used bicycle donations and repair them, and then sell them at a low cost to our customers.

Car Ownership in the NRV

According to recent data from the Census Bureau, 20.4% of the NRV population lives below the poverty line, and approximately 5% of households in the NRV do not have access to a motor vehicle. (Data USA) Access to affordable transportation options is becoming increasingly difficult with the supply chain disruptions and increased fuel prices, and for undeserved populations,

this makes trips for work, school, groceries, and wellness appointments challenging. Our Mission

Our mission is to make bikes accessible to everyone who depends on an alternate form of transportation and to help improve community health. Since 2012, we have been working directly with individuals/families or with nonprofit and civic partners, like social services, refugee partnerships, transitional housing owners, mental health counselors churches, and so on. Wrenching on Bikes

Our operation is simple. We are a small, all volunteer group operating in a workshop located within the Habitat for Humanity ReStore -- one of our most important partners. We salvage and reuse bike parts as often as we can. However, we do need to buy parts, like new cable, cable housing, brakes, tires, tubes, and handlebar grips, and sometimes we buy more expensive items like tools, shifters, derailleurs, and other items.
