Marine Corps League New River Valley This page was created to promote and support the activities of Marine Corps League Det #1190 of the New River Valley here in Southwest Virginia.

Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy, voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines, FMF Corpsmen and former Marines and FMF Corpsmen and to their widows and orphans; and to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.

Yesterday, our Detachment had the privilege of raising the colors at the Memorial Day ceremony in Bisset Park in Radford, Virginia. Honoring those veterans who gave everything to this great nation is something we look forward to doing every year. Semper Fi!

We are proud to host the Veterans Dinner this year! It will be held on April 23rd from 6-8 at Selah Springs. This dinner is free for ALL veterans and their families. We ask that you RSVP so that we can have enough food and swag bags for our veterans. RSVP by April 17th using one of the following methods:

Our theme this year is Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom! Our program will be given by April Danner from the Wilderness Road Regional Museum on the Revolution in Southwest Virginia.
