The Short Mountain Repeater Club is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1979 to establish and maintain the Short Mountain amateur radio 2m repeater at 146.9100 (-0.6 MHz/PL: 114.8 Hz) high atop Short Mountain in Middle Tennessee. The repeater is located in Cannon County, Tennessee on top of Short Mountain and is about 60 miles southeast of Nashville, TN (approx. 35 51'38" N 85 58'08" W) at an
elevation of almost 2200 feet. It covers a wide area and is open to all licensed amateur radio operators of technician class or higher. Join us on Monday nights at 8 PM CST on the old 910 for the Old Codger's Net. If you don't have an Old Codger's number, you have probably missed conversations about whether bats always fly left when coming out of a cave and how to tell if your dog or your wife loves you more. In other words, we talk about useless information but we have a lot of fun. Bring your riddles, brain teasers, jokes and trivia and check in to one of the most fun and historic nets in Tennessee! You can even get a Old Codger Certificate suitable for framing to show your good taste in belonging to the most elite clubs in amateur radio: The Old Codger's Net. Now all you ladies out there, you're welcome too but we don't call you Old Codgers; we make a fuss over you Young Codgerettes. As you can see, there's something for everyone so don't forget to make plans to join us on Monday nights. You'll be much smarter for your effort; or at least you'll know something nobody else knows, even if it is worthless!!
