We extend our warmest welcome to our new Post Commander, Kathleen Diaz. She is distinguished as the first woman to hold the position of Post Commander within the 78-year history of our post. Commander Diaz dedicated a decade to active service within the United States Marine Corps and additionally accumulated over ten years of experience with the California Army National Guard. Her professional trajectory also includes employment with the California Department of Corrections, where she initially served as a Correctional Officer, then as a Sergeant, and ultimately as a Lieutenant, working in some of California's toughest correctional facilities.

Commander Placencia accepted the All-State team award presented to our Post at the State Convention on June 20, 2025. This award is given to VFW posts that meet or exceed certain criteria throughout the year. It is not an easy task and requires a lot of hard work and effort from all Post members. A special hat is awarded to the Post Commander and Post Quartermaster of each post that meets the criteria to be All-State.

Commander Placencia expresses his profound gratitude to every member of the post for their diligent efforts throughout the year and asserts that this award is the Post's, and the members deserve all the recognition.
