Today, with a heavy heart, we give thanks to Creator for being with us in our time of sorrow. At this time we would like to honor Leona Dixon and her mom, Janie Dixon by saying thank you for sharing Ryan Awah Toklo Abi Bell with our group. We would like to share photos, memories and play one of the Pow-wow song he loved to sing by Yellow Hammer called Otoe Encampment. He was an extraordinary person and he will be greatly missed by us all. He often talk about how greatful and blessed he was to have his mom and grandma in his life. He loved his family dearly. When he became a part of our family and family group he wanted to know more Chahta culture and Pow-wow. From the very beginning he jumped right in with everything and gave it all he had. It was evident the talent he possessed within himself and many saw his potential as he flourished over the years. He has made so many accomplishments and he always made us proud. He loved traveling with us because before we left for our next destination, everyone we met would be considered family. Ryan always had a positive attitude and outlook towards people and toward life. He never met a person that he didn’t become friends with. That’s just the kind of person he was. He always represented our Choctaw culture with strong Chata pride. It’s never goodbye, just see you later. Rest In Peace to one of creator’s warrior, Ryan Awah Toklo Abi Bell.
