An FYI regarding prescribed burns.

White Mountain National Forest is planning prescribed fire operations beginning in early April and will continue as weather conditions allow. We use prescribed fires to maintain the open grass/shrub habitat for wildlife and help reduce overgrown vegetation to protect local communities, infrastructure and natural resources from wildfires.

This afternoon the Association received a donation of $810 from Cranmore Mountain Resort, Mountain Meisters Pay to Play. On behalf of our Association and the community, thank you VERY much. These funds are used for a variety of expenses including the purchasing of life saving fire and medical equipment, training and a yearly scholarship for a Kennett High student. The NAEMT Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2026 EMR and EMT Scholarships, which support individuals interested in pursuing a career in emergency medical services.

Scholarships of up to $1,000 are available to individuals enrolling in an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) education program. Awards help offset the cost of EMS training and include a one-year NAEMT student membership.

Application period: March 1 – April 30, 2026

Awards announced: June 2026

Applicants do not need to be NAEMT members to apply. We encourage you to please share this opportunity with EMT and EMR students, EMS training programs, and others in your community who may be interested in entering the EMS profession.

The NAEMT Foundation works to strengthen and build a better future for EMS by funding EMS education and research, helping address workforce recruitment and retention challenges across the profession.
