We are selling our oldest fire engine. It is a 1980 model GMC 7000 equipped with a 427ci gasoline engine with a 4-speed manual transmission with a 2-speed rear end. This truck has 18,369 original miles. It has a 1,000 aluminum tank with a 750 per minute Hale, front mount pump with current pump test. The tires are like new and were manufactured in 2020. This apparatus is in excellent condition for its age and everything works as it should. We are asking $10,000 but will entertain any reasonable offers. This evening at 8:24pm, Station 200 with the assistance of Station 300 were dispatched to 1460 Hunt Rd. for a mobile home fire. The structure was fully engulfed upon arrival. Fire fighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames and bring the fire under control. The dwelling was a total loss. No one was reported home at the time of the incident. The state fire marshals office was called to investigate.

This afternoon at approx. 3:55, Station 200 as well as Roane County Emergency Squad Station 703 was dispatched to a single vehicle accident near 21747 South Calhoun Hwy. The vehicle caught fire which also caused a minor brush fire. The fire was extinguished and no injuries reported.

This evening at Station 200, we welcomed Roane County EMS crew, Jordyn Long and Judy Brannon. Jordyn and Judy went through the operation of their trucks equipment as well as got FD responders familiarized with the location of medical supplies within the truck. Our department wants to always be ready to help other emergency agencies when they need assistance.

This morning at 8:10am, Upper West Fork VFD was dispatched to 25535 South Calhoun Hwy. for a truck in the ditch on its side. No injuries were reported and crews were on scene until the vehicle could be removed.

This evening, station 200 members with the guidance of training officer Hannah Ross, took part in rope rescue training by learning to tie different knots and utilizing them with a “Sked”. The “Sked” is a stretcher system used by emergency services to securely transport patients in challenging environments.
