United Way of Northeastern Minnesota The United Way of Northeastern Minnesota is a non-profit organization serving Northern St. Our work today goes far beyond raising and distributing money.

UWNEMN and our partners are here to help all people thrive across the Iron Range, Koochiching County, and Lake of the Woods County thanks to the support of local donors and volunteers. Louis County, Koochiching County, Lake of the Woods County, and parts of Itasca County, encompassing thirty-five communities. More than 40 years ago concerned and passionate citizens helped to create the United Way

of Northeastern Minnesota to help people in need and make our community a better place for everyone. We are seen as change agents who bring together experts from all across the community including government, business, faith groups, labor, nonprofits and ordinary citizens to create long lasting change.

Our region has the opportunity to learn from THE experts in all things volunteering, Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement, for 's next Lead Local: Volunteer Recruitment + Management training (August 10th at Iron Trail Motors Event Center).

Volunteers are headed back out to ’s Meet Up and Chow Down sites across the region today with free bag lunches - and Summer Buddy Backpacks to take home for the weekend! - for children ages 1-18.

Our thanks to the local volunteers, kitchens, and communities who have united to feed children for this week of our free summer lunch program. Volunteers will be out Monday-Thursday, rain or shine, through September 3rd.
