Fellow War Veteran's,

May is one of the most important months on the calendar for the VFW. It’s Military Appreciation Month, Mental Health Awareness Month, and also holds two important days dedicated to our service members: Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day.

Far too many Americans overlook the true meaning of Memorial Day. As proud veterans and VFW members, we understand better than most that this ever-important day is dedicated to honor and remember all those who have bravely worn America’s uniform and lost their lives protecting our freedom or liberating others.

This Memorial Day we join you in saluting those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice and perpetuating the memory and lasting impacts they’ve left behind.

On May 3, 2024, we held our second annual food drive as part of our VFW Day of Service. We had 6 Post members and 6 Auxiliary members participate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Walmart and Festival Food's in Chippewa Falls.
We collected 2,560 pounds of food and non food items. During the event, we also collected over $2,000 in cash donations.
We chose Agnes Table and St. Francesca's to receive the donations.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the VFW chicken dinner. We sold out 600+ meals in a little over 2 hours. Outstanding community support. Next year, we will plan on preparing around 800 meals do to the unwavering support of everyone like you. We are sorry to the 100+ cars we had to turn away after we sold out. We hope everyone that got their meal enjoyed it and comes back again next year. Thank you again!

Chippewa VFW Post 1038 held their 1st VFW Day of Service food drive on May 5th, 2023 at the Lake Hallie Walmart. We collected over 1,300 pounds of food and $1,000 cash while dodging the rain drops all day. We then delivered the food and money to Agnes Table with welcome arms. We wish to thank everyone that donated food, money and their time to make this event a huge success .
