September is National Fall Prevention Month, and although we take safety VERY seriously, that does not mean we don't take EVERY opportunity to have a little fun! 🍂

Each activity or class you participate in earns you a raffle ticket for our grand prize drawing, featuring an incredible gift basket valued at more than $250!

Washington County Council on Aging is looking for compassionate, dependable caregivers to provide in-home support for older adults in our community.

We are hiring :

• CNA Caregivers
• Home Health Aide Caregivers
• Homemaker & Companion Caregivers

Apparently, we did not want August to end and decided to add a few extra days to the month. Who gave us that authority? We’re still investigating but it has been fixed. 🤷‍♀️🤣

Good news though... The only activity affected is Movie Day! 🎬🍿

Movie Day has been moved to THIS WEDNESDAY, August 26th at 12:00 PM.

We are incredibly grateful for the community partners and supporters who continue to show up for our seniors! 💛

Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Swamp Barn Charity Car Show on Sunday, September 6! 🚗🏆

The folks at The Swamp Barn are once again generously choosing to support the Washington County Council on Aging, with proceeds from this year’s event benefiting the seniors we serve. We are so thankful for their continued support and for everyone who comes out to make events like this a success.

📍 The Swamp Barn | 6519 Dog Track Road, Ebro

⏰ Registration: 10 AM–1 PM | Show: 1–5 PM

🏆 Awards at 4:30 PM

🚘 $25 per vehicle

🎶 Live entertainment by Taste of Spice

🍦 CHANGE OF PLANS... and we think this one is pretty sweet!

With the recent heat advisories, we’re trading our Senior Appreciation Lake Day for a cool afternoon inside at WCCOA!

🛶 Don’t worry, though! We’re planning a Boat Lake Day for a later date, so stay tuned for details.

Join us Friday, August 21 for lunch at 11:30 AM, followed by an Ice Cream Social with all the toppings! 🍨

If you already have lunch plans feel free to join us at about 12:15 PM for the Ice Cream Social. Just give us a call to let us know you are coming.
