Fishing with Friends at Blue Lake was a great day!

Thank you to Innovations FCU, Joey Tharp (EMS) for manning the grill, Wausau Bait & Tackle for the wigglers, and our friend Stacey for the extra poles and helping keep everybody baited up and fishing!

Aging Like a Pro is always a fresh, informative program each month, and we are so thankful for the time Tamekia McKinnie spends with us making sure we have the resources, tools, and encouragement to do life, and to do it well.

This month, we focused on mental health and the resources available right here in our area.

Mental health is such an important starting place because our emotional well-being can impact every part of life, from our physical health and daily routines to our relationships, confidence, and overall happiness.

Thank you, Tamekia, for pouring into our community and reminding us that taking care of our minds matters just as much as taking care of our bodies.

Grab your pole and come kick off Memorial Day weekend at Blue Lake! 🎣☀️

Our Fishing & Friends Day is happening this Friday, May 22nd at 10:00 a.m. and we would love for you to join us for a day of fishing, laughter, fellowship, and good food by the water.

Lunch will be hot off the grill at 11:30 a.m. thanks to our wonderful crew at Washington County EMS! 🌭🍔

Not much of a fisherman? That’s alright too. Come sit under the pavilion, enjoy a few games, visit with friends, and serve as an official witness when next week’s stories start sounding like:
“Now I’m telling ya… that fish was THIS big!” 🐟😂

We’ll have games and fellowship under the pavilion, and if you plan to fish along the waterline, feel free to bring a chair.

A special THANK YOU to our friends at Innovations FCU for sponsoring this special day for our seniors and community. We are also grateful to the Washington County Board of County Commissioners for helping make sure beautiful Blue Lake is ready and looking perfect for us to enjoy together.

And a huge shoutout to Wausau Bait & Tackle for donating the wigglers… ALL 1,000 of them! 🪱 Now if the fish aren’t biting, we may just have to start naming the worms. 😂

We are still enjoying some of the beautiful flowers Mrs. Lillian cut fresh from her yard for us. 🌸

The community is invited to join us Monday, May 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for a FREE Legal Clinic at The Hive hosted by Legal Services of Northwest Florida.

We are excited to now host this free legal clinic monthly on the third Monday of each month.

Come learn about legal resources and how Legal Services of Northwest Florida may be able to assist eligible individuals with matters such as wills, advance directives, housing and landlord issues, consumer concerns, public benefits, family law matters, and more.

The clinic and information session are free and open to the community. Legal representation and services are available to those who meet eligibility requirements.
