Maggie!! Sweet Maggie!! Why hasn’t anyone adopted Maggie? She is a good girl but we think it’s because she is a bit shy and because of her color. Sadly she has 2 challenges, personality I have a shy dog and it’s such a wonderful experience helping a shy dog settled in and as far as her color…. You see this video she is stunning! ♥️ let’s find Maggie her forever home!!!

GreySave's Oktoberfest festival will be held on Saturday September 27, 2025, 10am - 3pm. This year's Oktoberfest will bring back the popular costume contest. We will also have our unique fun favorite, the greyhound carnival and raffle opportunities. We will include our popular chicken, carnitas and vegan tacos, salad, homemade dessert bar, water and soda. Plus, there will be plenty of time to rest and socialize with your greyhound friends.



Ticket prices are $30 for adults, $20 for children under 13 and Free for Benefactors who bring their GreySave free event passes.

Hello GreySavers! We are so excited about our GreySave gathering next month. It’s been too long since we gathered with our beautiful hounds and friends.
We are again asking for dessert donations to go along with the wonderful food Sandy and Brian and helpers are preparing.
We know there are some fabulous bakers that would love to show off their talents. Cookies, brownies, cupcakes or any other finger style desserts are preferred. Questions? Contact us or Leslie Veale Carr.

CALIENTE TRACK CLOSING in mid-July. We are still working on getting all of the details on how quickly the 150 dogs will need to be moved into adoption groups. GreySave is working with Fast Friends, the track and the NGA on the details.

We do not need money at this point. We ONLY need Foster homes and people who are willing to foster-to-adopt. If you want another greyhound, this may be your last opportunity.

As more information becomes available on timing and logistics, we will let you know. Please email Judy Damico at [email protected] to volunteer to foster.

RACE TO THE PARK! Next month on May 25th we will gather to celebrate all things Greyhound. We are looking for donations for our GREYT dessert buffet. We would love to have some of your homemade goodies. Finger foods that can easily be served, cookies, cupcakes, brownies etc. Looking forward to seeing everyone and your pups. It’s with great sorrow we announce the passing of GreySave’s Founder and President, Cathy Kiburtz. Cathy passed away peacefully at home just before Midnight on February 26th, 2024, surrounded by her family and, of course, her greyhounds. Cathy was the force behind GreySave, a non-profit she started in 2006.
GreySave’s vision is simple - “To find loving homes for former racing greyhounds”, and Cathy did that with passion and ease. The thousands of dogs she has been instrumental in bringing out of the Caliente racetrack and rehomed as family pets are a testament to her legacy.

Her presence within the organization will be deeply missed as well as by her loving family - Husband Alan, Sons Jeff (his wife Luciana & their children Olivia and Anika) & Ethan (his wife Kristen and their children Samantha and Miles), Siblings - Rebecca Buxton Latimer, Percival Buxton III and Laura Buxton, Aunt, Mabel Belmore, and of course her own pack of greyhounds in Utah. Most of us have no idea all that Cathy did for GreySave or her family, but we will soon find out as we adjust to not having her here for her knowledge and guidance.
