Today, we remember Patrolman Paul E. Marston ( #138).

On June 9, 1969, Patrolman Marston was shot and killed by prison escapee Danny Lee Eckard during a gun battle on a farm in Chino Valley. Eckard was then fatally shot by Patrolman Ron Mayes, who was riding with Marston. Patrolman Marston was 31 years old and had served with AZDPS for five years at the time of his death.

Our Memorial is maintained by volunteers, flags and maintenance needs are purchased by the foundation. We are 100% non-profit, all donations go to upkeep of the memorial or to assist families of fallen first responders and veterans killed on active duty.
In order to keep the Memorial looking beautiful, we conduct raffles, sell pavers and sponsor the Territorial Days Car Show. We are in the midst of fundraising season and I want to put some emphasis on our paver project. There are a total of 146 paver spaces left before we end sales. 86 of those are reserved for Veterans the remaining 60 can be purchased by any individual group or business. If you have ever thought about purchasing one of the pavers, now is the time. You can purchase them at our website: www.chinovalleymemorial.com. The next paver order will be going in on July 1, so that the pavers will be in place for our annual 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony.
And don't forget our R***r one of a kind 10-22 raffle. Message us for details or to obtain tickets!

I would like to acknowledge the following for helping make our National Law Enforcement Memorial a success:
Mr. Larry Aldrich
Our piper Tony from CAFMA
The Chino Valley Police Department cadets
The Copper State Young Marines
Chino Valley Community Services and Parks staff
As in most cases, it's not the faces out front that make the event a success, it's the shadows. Thank you all.
