Dear Farmers Market Friends,
We have an important update to share with you. After much consideration, MSMP has made the difficult decision to pause the outdoor China Grove Farmers Market for this season.
While the farmers market has been a meaningful part of our town for many years, it requires significant financial and staffing resources to operate well. At this time, the available funding and capacity are not enough to responsibly sustain the weekly market. In order to steward the mission of MSMP responsibly and focus on long-term sustainability, MSMP has made the difficult decision to concentrate our efforts on strengthening their year-round Marketplace and expanding programs that support local farmers in sustainable ways.
We are incredibly proud of what was built together. Thank you to every vendor, farmer, volunteer, sponsor, and shopper who made it possible! MSMP remains deeply committed to supporting local agriculture and creating access to healthy food in our community.
So What’s Ahead: Seasonal Pop-Up Markets ----
While the weekly market will not operate this season, MSMP will continue to host a series of pop-up markets throughout the year including:
🌷Spring Pop-Up Market – May 7th
🍉Summer Night Market – July
🍂Fall Harvest Market – October
🎁 Holiday Market – December
These events will allow us to continue celebrating local vendors in a format that is financially sustainable and still community-centered, while a little easier on staff and resources. Keep a look out on Main Street Marketplace’s social media for more information!
Also, don't forget that Main Street Marketplace continues to operate as a year-round indoor farmers market, supporting local farmers, bakers, artisans, and producers. Last year alone, they generated over $60,000 for local farmers and vendors!
