🌿 Free Store Spotlight + After‑School Hours
The Jefferson Teen Center Free Store is open to all teens in Jefferson County ages 12–19, offering clothing, socks, shoes, school supplies, hygiene items, pantry staples, and community resources — all completely free.

Today we’re highlighting one of our most important hygiene supplies: dental care. Thanks to a generous donation from a local dentist, we restocked the toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, and floss available for any teen who needs them.

Dental care is especially critical in rural communities like ours, where access barriers lead to higher rates of tooth decay, gum disease, and tooth loss. That’s why we make these items a priority in the Free Store — because your health, confidence, and well‑being matters.

A quick reminder: you should replace your toothbrush or electric toothbrush head every 3–4 months to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

You can access the Free Store during our after‑school hours:
Monday • 3–6 PM
Thursday • 3–6 PM
Friday • 3–6 PM

🌿 Ready, Set, Learn: Year One Wrap‑Up

Our first year of Ready, Set, Learn, the Jefferson Teen Center’s Back‑to‑School Readiness Program, is officially complete and together, our community reached 40 families across Jefferson County.

We launched this program as an extension of our Free Store because we know that barriers to education are real, and they show up in school supplies, hygiene items, pantry staples, and all the small things that add up for teens and families. We wanted to get these resources directly into the hands of people in our community — and what we learned is that the need is even greater than we imagined. We wish we could have reached more families this year.

To everyone who donated: thank you for believing in our teens.

To every family who applied: thank you for your patience as we figured out how to roll out a brand‑new program in a way that could reach as many households as possible.
And to the families we weren’t able to reach this time — we haven’t forgotten you.

We already have big plans for next year, including bringing in more community partners, more agencies, and more hands working together so we can support even more families across Jefferson County.

We’re committed to keeping our teens and families supported as a community that believes in one another.

🌟 Jefferson Teen Center — After‑School Program Reopens Monday

We are elated to finally open our after‑school program again — doors open Monday, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back.

We’ll kick off the week with nachos, activities, and a fully stocked free store offering clothes, hygiene supplies, school supplies, and food pantry items. Our library is refreshed, our music room is ready, and our art supplies have been restocked for a year full of creativity and connection.

As many in our community know, Jefferson County has been hit hard by recent federal cutbacks, and we’ve felt those impacts too. Because of this, we’re scaling back the number of days we can be open on‑site — but we’re also expanding off‑site programming to keep teens and families supported.

This year, you’ll see movie nights, family dinners, and new family‑fun events across the county. We’re building a model that keeps teens at the center of every decision, every program, every plan.

This is only the beginning of the Jefferson Teen Center 2026–2027 year.

We’re excited to grow, adapt, and create alongside you.

🌿 Farm to Fork Nutrition Program🌾

Even though we’re not a farm, our work is deeply connected to the farmers, growers, and farm‑adjacent partners who make fresh, local produce accessible to teens. Our goal is simple: reduce barriers to locally grown food and help young people build a deeper connection to place.

At the Jefferson Teen Center, our Farm‑to‑Fork Nutrition Program is powered by the abundance of this place — the food grown here, the people who tend the land, and the community that believes in nourishing youth.

We are so grateful to live in an area bountiful with food and the people who care for it, including these incredible partners who keep our program thriving:

- Finnriver — hosting our donation box and supporting us year‑round by hosting fundraisers
- Chimacum Corner Store — monthly fresh fruit & veg donations teens look forward to
- Frog Hill Farm — seasonal produce that keeps our snacks vibrant and local
- Port Townsend Food Co‑op — community‑powered support for nutritious, accessible food

Together, we’re strengthening local food systems, nourishing teens, and celebrating the land that sustains us. 🌾💛

🌾 Deep Gratitude for Frog Hill Farm 🌾

The Jefferson Teen Center does not thank Frog Hill Farm nearly enough for their partnership. They’re one of those reliable, heart‑of‑the‑community neighbors we can always call on when we’re missing that one last thing to make a teen event perfect.

This week, while setting up our very first Movie Night, we realized we didn’t have a proper speaker — and Frog Hill Farm immediately stepped in and purchased a portable speaker so our teens could enjoy the full experience.

And every year, they share their gorgeous flower batches with us, filling the Teen Center with color, life, and joy. Their generosity shows up again and again, and our teens feel it every time they walk through the door.

We’re so grateful for Frog Hill Farm and the way they help our rural community thrive. 💛🌿

🌟 Huge gratitude to the Chimacum Grange! 🌟

The Jefferson Teen Center is so grateful to the Chimacum Grange for sponsoring our Movie Night tonight.

Their support helps us keep creating fun, safe, and welcoming spaces for local teens and we couldn’t do it without community partners like them.

Next time you’re nearby, stop in and show them some appreciation for supporting youth in our rural community. Their generosity truly makes a difference. 💛🌾

✨ Jefferson Teen Center Update ✨

If you’ve noticed the Teen Center hasn’t opened yet for our after‑school program, you’re right and there’s a good reason. We’re deep in strategic planning with our teens, not just for them.

Youth from across Jefferson County are helping shape the next phase of the Teen Center by designing programs, reimagining the space, and deciding what support and opportunities matter most. Their voices are at the core of every decision we make.

And a huge thank‑you to OlyCAP for providing dinner during our planning session, your support helps make this work possible.

Stay tuned for all the amazing things we’re building together. The future of the Teen Center is being written by the teens themselves, and it’s going to be powerful!

It’s the final week of our Back‑to‑School fundraiser.

Families across Jefferson County are facing real barriers after federal budget slashing led to local program disintegration and we’re stepping up to fill the gap.

You can donate through our PayPal link on our website, in our social media bio, or directly here:

https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/M6BVD5UFTM8QG

If you prefer to give physical items, you can drop off anything from our supply list at our donation site on the Finnriver Farmhouse CSA porch.

Every backpack, hygiene item, and pantry staple helps a local family send their kids back to school with dignity and stability.

đź’—Thank you for showing up for our community.
