Today we are spotlighting the wonderful Jasmyne — an 8th grade baritone horn player with the Chimacum Cowboys Band!

25 days. And today's spotlight is bringing some serious low brass energy to the countdown!

Jasmyne is in 8th grade and she is taking the baritone horn all the way to Washington D.C. The baritone horn is one of those instruments that holds a marching band together from the inside — rich, full, and powerful in a way that you feel as much as you hear. And in 25 days, Jasmyne is going to be filling the streets of the nation's capital with that incredible sound.

Middle school. The 250th Independence Day Parade. The entire nation watching.
Jasmyne has earned her place on this trip and represents everything that is great about the Chimacum Cowboys Band — hard work, dedication, and a love for music that shows up every single day.

25 days, Jasmyne. The whole county is cheering you on every step of that parade route! 🎶

📣 Attention Chimacum DC Trip Families! 📣

If your student is heading to Washington, D.C. with us, check your email! 📧 We sent out important information about joining us for a museum visit during the trip — including some options with limited spots available, so it's first come, first served!
Museums include the Air & Space Museum, the Holocaust Museum, and the Natural History Museum (unlimited space, but we still need a sign-up!). 🏛️✈️

Deadline to respond: June 26 at noon. Don't miss your window!

🎶 26 DAYS! 26 DAYS, Cowboys!

Today we are spotlighting the fantastic Aaron — an 8th grade trombonist with the Chimacum Cowboys Band!

26 days. And the countdown keeps rolling with another spotlight that is going to make you smile.

Aaron is in 8th grade and he is bringing the low brass heat to the 250th Independence Day Parade in Washington D.C. The trombone is the backbone of any great marching band — powerful, bold, and impossible to ignore. And in 26 days, Aaron is going to be sliding his way down the streets of the nation's capital in front of the entire country.
Middle school. National stage. 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
Aaron has put in the work and earned every step of this incredible journey, and the Chimacum community couldn't be more proud to watch him go.

🎶 27 DAYS! 27 DAYS, Cowboys!

Today we are spotlighting the amazing Landon — an 8th grade saxophonist with the Chimacum Cowboys Band!

27 days. And today's spotlight might just be our most impressive yet.

Landon is in 8th grade. Let that sink in for a second. While most middle schoolers are thinking about summer break, Landon is preparing to march in the 250th Independence Day Parade in Washington D.C. — on a national stage, in front of the entire country, representing the state of Washington.

That saxophone didn't earn itself a spot on this trip. Landon did. Through hard work, dedication, and the kind of talent that doesn't wait around for high school to show up.
There is something absolutely special about a young musician who rises to this level before most kids even get there — and Landon is doing exactly that.

27 days, Landon. You are going to own that parade route and the whole county knows it! 🎷

🎶 Early risers for the WIN! 🌅

Our incredible 8th graders were up and out the door by 7:30 this morning, making the trip to Port Angeles High School for the North Olympic Honor Band! 🎺🥁🎷

They’re joining middle school musicians from across the Olympic Peninsula to do something pretty amazing — learn and rehearse an entire concert in a single day. That kind of dedication deserves a standing ovation before they even play a note! 👏

The Honor Band performance is tonight at 5:00 PM in the Port Angeles High School Auditorium — and it is FREE to attend!

Today we are spotlighting the one and only David — a freshman clarinetist with the Chimacum Cowboys Band!

28 days. We are 28 days out from one of the most historic parades in American history, and David is going to be right there in the middle of it.

A freshman. A clarinet. And a spot on a national stage that most musicians only dream about. David has put in the work, shown up for his teammates, and earned every single step of that march down the streets of Washington D.C.

The 250th Independence Day Parade. The entire nation watching. And a Chimacum Cowboy representing the great state of Washington.

Not bad for your first year, David. Not bad at all.

Meet Raychel — a freshman percussionist with the Chimacum Cowboys Band and an absolute force behind the drum line! 🇺🇸🤠

You want to talk about earning your spot? Raychel is a freshman holding it down in the percussion section of a HIGH SCHOOL band — and if you know anything about percussion, you know that is no small feat. The rhythm, the timing, the energy of the entire band flows through that section and Raychel brings it every single time. 🥁🔥

In 29 days, Raychel will be keeping the beat as the Chimacum Cowboys march down the streets of Washington D.C. in the 250th Independence Day Parade — representing the entire state of Washington. Every step that band takes will have Raychel's rhythm behind it. 💛🏛️

Tonight, something truly special happened — students, alumni, families, and friends joined their voices together for the Chimacum Alma Mater. Whether you graduated years ago or are just getting to know our school community, those words carry something timeless. Pride. Belonging. Home.

Thank you to everyone who sang along — you made it a moment we won’t forget. 🐴⭐

Huge Community Turnout

WOW. Just… wow. 🎉 Tonight’s dedication of the Montgomery Auditorium at Chimacum Jr./Sr. High School brought out an incredible community — alumni, families, former students, music lovers, and friends of Duane Montgomery all came together to honor the man whose legacy literally shaped generations of musicians in this valley. From the Elementary Drumline to the Jr./Sr. High Band and that unforgettable finale, the Cowboys showed up and showed OUT. Thank you to everyone who packed the house and made this night absolutely unforgettable. 🥁🎺❤️
