Community Works had the opportunity to build the Party Ark, a gift-giving vessel, integrated at the Connectivity Summit. We had a great time bringing an old project back to life and offering it as an intentional contribution.

Hands-on builds like this, projects that teach valuable life and trade skills while creating something that serves others, are exactly the kind of work we love taking on at our shop in Chimacum.

Huge thanks to The Production Alliance team for the collaboration and support.

Over the weekend, the Party Ark was filled with handmade gifts from and for the community, and it will continue to collect offerings at events throughout the spring before being presented at Rhody Fest.

This new name reflects how our work has grown, while remaining rooted in the same values that have always defined our organization. In our shop, people of all ages come together through community-centered projects that build skills, confidence, and connection while responding to community needs.

As Community Works, these values are expressed through a range of programs and partnerships. We offer several ways to get involved, including partnerships with Chimacum Valley Tech’s construction trades program, weekly student groups in our shop, open shop hours, and paid internships that support mentorship and workforce pathways.

Whether you are a student, educator, partner, or community member, there are many ways to get involved with Community Works. We’d love for you to help spread the word by sharing this news with friends, neighbors, or colleagues who may be interested in learning, participating, or collaborating.

Together, we are strengthening our community through meaningful work that makes a real difference.

For the last three weeks, Voyagers have been training at the YMCA of Jefferson County pool, with Salish Rescue Port Townsend providing instruction on rescue and survival skills needed to safely operate RHIBs on Puget Sound and Port Townsend Bay.

Over the next five weeks, Voyagers will learn and refine skills in close maneuvering, towing, adverse conditions, navigation, and POB rescue!

Here is a wonderful write about our last build. It's been great working on projects with the Food Bank Farm and Gardens of Jefferson County!

What an amazing day it was. Brent Bellamy from the Community Boat Project and his crew of ten hard workers arrived at the Quimper Grange Food Bank Garden loaded down with a beautiful handmade arbor and gorgeous bench, complete with a hand-forged plaque honoring Jo Yount, founding mother of the garde...

The latest CBP shop creation is this garden shelter built for the Quimper Grange Food Bank Garden!

The bench is made from an offcut from the adventuress and the lattice sides are made from boat yard scraps! As a final touch we completed our first bronze pour for the plaque!
