As the only animal shelter in Calumet County, we proudly care for and advocate for hundreds of animals each year. What we do
- Temporary care for stray, abandoned and unwanted animals
- Educate the public on responsible pet ownership
- Spay/neuter programs
- Adoptions/microchip

🧃 JUICE HAS BEEN WAITING 365+ DAYS… AND HE HAS QUESTIONS. 😂

Excuse me… HELLO?! 👀

Juice would like to know why he is STILL waiting for his happily ever after. He has been at the shelter for over 365 DAYS. That is an entire YEAR of waiting for someone to realize that he is, in fact, the whole package. 📦❤️

And honestly… we don't blame him for looking a little concerned. 😂

Juice is a handsome Staffordshire mix with the biggest personality to match his big ol' head and even bigger heart. ❤️ He is silly, affectionate, goofy, and SO deserving of a family who will finally say, “Yep. That's our dog.”

He shouldn't have to celebrate another birthday, holiday, or random Tuesday behind a kennel door.

365+ days is WAY too long. 😭

Juice isn't asking for much… just a family, a couch, some snacks, and preferably someone who appreciates his dramatic facial expressions. 😂

Mama Boogie and her little dancing babes— Go-Go, Groovy & Disco — are ready to put on a show! 💃🕺 These kittens have been practicing their Super Groovy Disco moves, and trust us… they’re paws-itively impressive. 😻

💕 Thankful Thursday: Donnagan & Willow 💕

Today we’re feeling extra thankful for two Eastshore alumni who found their way into the most wonderful forever home! 🐾❤️

Meet Donnagan and Willow (formerly Blizzard)! Their mom recently shared that she "absolutely loves her two kitties from Eastshore", and we couldn’t be happier to hear it! 🥰

Willow was adopted in January 2026, and it didn’t take long for her mom to realize that her family wasn’t quite complete. In March 2026, she returned to Eastshore and adopted Donnagan! Now these two have their happily-ever-after together, and their little family is complete. 🏡🐱🐱❤️

We couldn’t be more thrilled for Donnagan and Willow and so grateful to their adopter for opening her heart and home to not one, but two deserving shelter cats. Stories like theirs are exactly why we do what we do!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supports Eastshore and helps give shelter animals the second chance they deserve. Every adoption, donation, volunteer hour, foster home, share, and kind word helps make happy endings like this possible. ❤️

🐱 We Have KITTENS! 🐱

Every week, more kittens are coming into our care. Pregnant mamas getting ready to give birth, tiny babies found abandoned, and growing kittens who are counting on us to keep their little bellies full and their bodies strong. ❤️🐾

And boy, do those little bellies EAT! 😂 We’re going through lots of cans of Purina Fancy Feast Kitten Pâté and bags of Purina Kitten Chow to keep these babies happy, healthy, and growing.

And of course… full bellies = full litter boxes! And lots of litter.... 💩😬 So while we take care of everything from tiny toes to stinky litter boxes, we could really use YOUR help! 🥰
