Abby and Matt Howard with the "Unplanned" podcast lost their third child, a baby girl named Emerson Nicole, at 17 weeks of pregnancy in September 2025. Abby Howard explained that she doesn't like the term "pregnancy loss" because she didn't lose a pregnancy; she lost her child. She is "grieving a human being".

On this National Day of Prayer, we give thanks for every pro-life gain, every life saved, every mother helped, and every heart moved toward the truth. We pray for mothers facing fear, pressure, poverty, or abandonment. May they receive protection, compassion, and real support. We pray for their unborn children, each one precious, irreplaceable, and loved by God.

We also pray for expectant fathers. May they have courage, wisdom, and strength to protect, provide, and stand faithfully beside the mothers of their children. Lord, make us a nation that welcomes life, defends the vulnerable, and loves both mother and child. Amen.
