Did you know? Reading regularly helps you in more than one way. And comic books and graphic novels count, especially for reluctant readers!

-Reading helps your brain by aiding in the prevention of cognitive decline and dementia.
-Reading reduces stress levels with physiological results, and yes this does have to do with disconnecting from devices, everyday life, and escaping to a fictional or mental realm.
-Reading results in measurable improvements to your mood.
-Reading increases empathy towards others, including those not like yourself.

Grab a free comic book from us or whatever else you want to read, and improve your well-being at the same time!

Get excited! Artist Sandy Plunkett is coming back to Chillicothe. We're thrilled to host him at the end of September. He always has interesting things to share from his career as a comic book artist for Marvel, DC, and more, but he will also talk about his Ohio-based art this time!

There is a book from the Southeast Ohio History Center that shows work by local artist Sandy Plunkett over the years. "A Brush, With History: The Illustrative Art of Sandy Plunkett” is a 35-year retrospective and catalogue, based on a past exhibit at the Center. Here are a couple of pages from the new book!

We will have details on the time and date very soon! Please look out for that.
