Summer is (unofficially) here! There are lots of comics and graphic novels about summer fun, and here's a series called Lumberjanes from BOOM! Studios. 🌞

You don't have to be an expert on comics. You just have to care about your community. We're looking for people with ties to education, business, the arts, etc. We have a seat for you at our table. 💺

The commitment is not massive. You can spend as much or as little time on the organization as you'd like to. We are happy to share more or let you get a feel for what we do. 🤝

Chillicothe Comics Center hasn't forgotten that we're commemorating 250 years since the Declaration of Independence through America-250 this year! 🇺🇸

Did you know that the U.S. Mint and DC Comics have created coins and medals of comic characters for the occasion? "Step into a bold new chapter of American artistry with an all-new series. In collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, this multi-year collectible journey will feature DC Super Heroes on official American coins and medals." 🏅

May is also Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander Heritage (AANHPI) Month! That covers and celebrates a lot of different cultures and peoples who have brought us things we love, from anime to hibachi to Lilo & Stitch. 💙

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. NAMI tells us that it "provides a chance to stand with your community and show that no one struggles alone."

Comic books and getting together around shared interests can actually help our well-being, whether we are kids or adults! That's part of our mission at Chillicothe Comics Center. If there's an interest, experience, or book you want to share with others, reach out to us!

And to celebrate the month, you can stop by the Paint Valley ADAMH "More Good Days, Together" Community Art Show at the Patricia Scott Memorial Art Gallery at Ohio University Chillicothe. Or, attend a book club, read a comic on your own, or create something that you like.

Happy last week of school to many of the children and families in our area! Congratulations to those graduating. 🎓

We've enjoyed being part of some of your school years, and we look forward to being part of your family's summer plans too! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

In June, you'll find Chillicothe Comics Center at Art in the Park with Mighty Children's Museum on Mondays at noon--June 22 and 29. We have some fun new activities planned for that after doing it for the first time last year. And we look forward to bringing some programming to the Unioto Elementary camp at the end of the month.
