The Chillicothe-Ross Community Foundation invites the community to join us in celebrating the life and legacy of the Reverend B. Wayne McLaughlin, a former Foundation Board member and a servant of Chillicothe and Ross County.

Wayne’s generous leadership touched countless churches, organizations, and lives throughout our community. This celebration will include a tree dedication and the renaming of the shelter house in his honor.

Saturday, October 3, 2026
12:00–2:00 p.m.
Southern Playground
W. 7th Street and S. Walnut Street, Chillicothe
Parking is available at the Lucy Webb Hayes Heritage House and the Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library at 140 S. Paint Street. Carpooling is encouraged.

Please join the City of Chillicothe and the Community Foundation as we remember a life of service and a legacy that lives on.

The Community Foundation has established the Wayne McLaughlin Memorial Scholarship Fund to carry forward Reverend McLaughlin’s legacy of service and support local students in their educational journeys.

The goal is to raise $25,000 to award an annual scholarship beginning in 2027. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help continue the spirit of unity, compassion, and leadership Wayne championed.

We are thrilled to help!

We love our community! A BIG thank you to the Chillicothe Ross Community Foundation for their incredibly generous grant that allowed us to purchase a Spot Vision Screener for our students! This amazing equipment gives in-depth, detailed vision screening results for our students which means earlier referrals and interventions, if needed! What an amazing way to help our students!
