We are thrilled to help!

We love our community! A BIG thank you to the Chillicothe Ross Community Foundation for their incredibly generous grant that allowed us to purchase a Spot Vision Screener for our students! This amazing equipment gives in-depth, detailed vision screening results for our students which means earlier referrals and interventions, if needed! What an amazing way to help our students! Thank you again to the Chillicothe-Ross Community Foundation!

Celebrating the "Spirit of Ohio": Marvin Jones

We are thrilled to share some incredible news from this past weekend!

Foundation Trustee Marvin Jones was honored at Saturday's Kiwanis Statehood Day Prayer Breakfast in Chillicothe. Marvin was presented with the 2026 Ohio Statehood Day Achievement Award, officially recognizing him as the individual who best embodies the “Spirit of Ohio.”

This award isn't just for one year of work—it honors over 50 years of dedicated service to our community. Marvin’s impact can be felt everywhere in Ross County, through his roles as:

-Former Managing Editor of the Chillicothe Gazette.
-Past President & CEO of the Chillicothe-Ross Chamber of Commerce.
-Transformative CEO at Goodwill Industries.
-A tireless advocate for local businesses and civic growth.

Presented annually by the Chillicothe Kiwanis Club and the Ross County Ministerial Association, this honor is reserved for those whose lives reflect a deep commitment to family, youth, and the natural beauty of our region.

"Marvin’s wisdom and steady leadership are invaluable assets to the Chillicothe-Ross Community Foundation board. We are grateful to have him in our corner."

Congratulations, Marvin, on this well-earned and prestigious recognition!

Thank you, Rotarians for your incredible support! You show Service Above Self always.

Yes, the weather outside was frightful, but the Holiday Pops Concert was SOOOO delightful. And our Rotarians, coupled with First Capital Rotary, made sure everyone found their seats. Thanks so much to the Chillicothe Ross Community Foundation for everything they do to bring the Pops here. It is the perfect holiday setting.

Today, on Giving Tuesday, we celebrate what we can do when we come together for the place we all call home.

Needs in our community are always changing. One year it might be stocking a food pantry, the next it could be launching a new arts program for kids or supporting a park restoration. How can we be ready for whatever comes next?

That is the power of our First Capital Fund.

It is our community’s permanent savings account, a resource built by all of us to meet the most pressing needs and seize the most promising opportunities in Ross County, today, tomorrow, and forever.

Your gift today, no matter the size, joins with your neighbors' to strengthen this fund for generations to come. It’s a gift that never stops giving.

Join the movement of people who love Ross County. Give to the First Capital Fund this Giving Tuesday.

A beloved Holiday Tradition. Don't miss the magnificent Columbus Symphony, along with our own Ross County Community Choir, as they fill the Ohio University Chillicothe Shoemaker Center with the sounds of the season at our Holiday Pops Spectacular presented by Adena Health. It's an afternoon of beautiful music and community connection that you won't want to miss.

This tradition is also about the spirit of giving. We are proud to partner with the Good Samaritan Network of Ross County to host a community food drive, which will conclude at the concert. By bringing a nonperishable food item, you can share the warmth of the season with a family right here in Ross County.

Ready to celebrate with us? Tickets are just $20 and are available now on Eventbrite at https://tinyurl.com/ykvzbh72
