🌟 Day 1 of the CIT International Conference in Orlando, FL! 🌴

What an incredible first day filled with valuable workshops and new ideas focused on first responder wellness, telecommunications, jail and behavioral health, crisis de-escalation strategies, co-responder models, and so much more.

This year, we’re seeing an increased focus on 988/911 collaboration, co-responder responses, and the importance of self-care for those working in crisis response. There are so many innovative ideas and best practices being shared that we’re excited to bring back to rural Missouri and put into practice within our communities.

A huge thank you to North Central MO Mental Health Center for supporting us and allowing us to attend this conference. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect with others in the field, and bring home fresh ideas that can strengthen crisis response in our communities. 💙

Only Day 1…Looking forward to what the rest of the conference has in store! 🙌

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor the courageous law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. These men and women dedicated their lives to protecting others, standing in the gap during moments of danger, uncertainty, and crisis. Their commitment to service and the safety of others will never be forgotten.

We also recognize the families, friends, coworkers, and agencies who continue to carry the weight of that loss every day. Behind every badge is a person who chose a life of service, and behind every fallen officer is a community forever impacted by their sacrifice.

Law enforcement officers across this country show up each day willing to face challenges most people will never fully see or understand. Today is a reminder of the bravery, selflessness, and dedication it takes to serve others, often at great personal cost.

As we remember the fallen, we also extend our gratitude to those who continue to serve with integrity, compassion, and courage. Their work matters, and their sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

Please join us in honoring the lives and legacies of the officers who gave everything in the line of duty. We will never forget their service, their sacrifice, or the impact they made on the communities they swore to protect. 💙🖤

Over the past week, the Green Hills Regional CIT Council hosted a 40-hour Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training, welcoming 20 participants from across our region. 👏

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the community members and local businesses who helped make this training possible. Generous donations of coffee, breakfast, lunch, and snacks were provided by Boji Stone, The Parlor Bakery, Matt Wright with smoked pulled pork, Domino’s, Hy-Vee, Blackwater, and North Central MO Mental Health Center. ☕🥐🍕

A special thank you to our lived experience panel—three individuals who courageously shared their personal stories and the challenges they have overcome. Many of their journeys included interactions with first responders, offering powerful insight and perspective.

CIT training also includes hands-on role-play scenarios. We are incredibly grateful to those who volunteered their time to participate—bringing real-life experiences, helping facilitate scenarios, and providing valuable feedback to participants.

Lastly, thank you to the Chillicothe MO Police Department for allowing us to host the training at your brand new facility. We appreciate the chaos amidst the chaos!

This training would not be possible without the support, time, and dedication of these individuals and businesses. Because of you, CIT training continues to make a meaningful impact in our community. 💙
