Great article about PATCH and how they help kids keep the connection with their incarcerated mothers at Chillicothe Correctional Center.

This organization reconnects families when the obstacles are literally three feet thick.

Vote YES on Constitutional Amendment 2 in November.
One of the recommendations of the Task Force on the Prevention of Sexual Abuse of Children has been to submit to Missouri voters a Constitutional Amendment to allow propensity evidence in cases of child s*xual abuse. Propensity evidence is evidence of prior bad acts, or prior s*x crimes, charged or uncharged, against children. This change is a priority of Missouri prosecutors, and they are asking for our help in persuading Missouri voters to vote yes in November.

Propensity evidence will be Constitutional Amendment 2 on the ballot in November (Protect Missouri Children). The bill that put Amendment 2 on the ballot is HJR16. It explains the issue and shows how Missouri is outside of the norm nationally with restrictions on propensity evidence.

PATCH is one of the most important things in which I am involved. If you live in the Chillicothe area, you might consider volunteering. If you live outside the area but still in Missouri, you could become a PATCH volunteer driver and bring kids to visit their Moms from your city.

"We drive from out of state to bring my 11 year old grandson for PATCH visits with his mother at Chillicothe Correctional Center. He needs to see his mom. I can just tell when it is time. He is out of sorts with school and his sports. He is able to have two PATCH visits during the two days we are in town. He is a different boy when we go home, happier and more confident."

I supervised a visit at CCC today between a Mom and her 15 year old daughter and a Mom and her 8 year old daughter. It (the hugs, kisses, smiles and time spent together) was priceless!
