October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month which is a great time to recognize the work of the Ross County Domestic Violence Collaboration Team. This group is lead by the RCCAC ROSE House Domestic Violence Program and meets on a regular basis to coordinate services for domestic violence survivors. Not all team members are present in the picture but we recognize and appreciate the entire team! At the October RCCAC Board of Director’s Meeting, Andrea Minton, Early Childhood Programs Director, awarded Lisa Wright and Joshua Shepherd with the Denise Sanford “Hero for a Child” Award. This award is given annualy to a parent(s) of a Head Start student for their engagement in the program. The award is presented in memory of Denise Sanford, a long time employee of Head Start, who advocated for the children of Ross County for over 40 years! Denise’s family was also there to present the award. Congratulations to Lisa and Joshua and thank you for your support and engagement with the Head Start Program!
