πŸ“£ Male Mentors Needed! πŸ“£

We currently have several young men waiting to be matched with a mentor.

You don't need to be perfect or have all the answers, you just need to show up consistently and authentically. No matter your interests, there's likely a teen who would love to learn from you. Just a few hours each month can make a lifelong difference.

πŸ›οΈβœ¨ Mayor for the Day! βœ¨πŸ›οΈ

Last fall, we hosted a Youth Experiences Auction, featuring unique opportunities for young people that were generously donated by community members and leaders. One of those experiences was the chance to serve as Mayor for the Day for the City of Chillicothe, Ohio!

We're excited to share that our very own mentor, Welcome, won this experience at the auction and chose to gift it to her PCMP teen Torrance. Last week, Torrance officially stepped into the role and took over for Mayor Luke Feeney for the day!

During her time as Mayor, Torrance had the opportunity to get an up-close look at local government in action. She was recognized by Mayor Feeney, signed her own proclamation, received updates on projects happening in Yoctangee Park, met with city staff, and learned firsthand how decisions are made that impact our community.

Experiences like these are powerful because they help young people see what is possible for their future. They provide exposure to leadership, civic engagement, and careers they may never have considered before.

A special thank you to Welcome for sharing this incredible opportunity with one of our teens, and to Mayor Luke Feeney for donating this experience to our auction. Not only did it help raise funds to support our mentoring programs but it also created a meaningful leadership experience that Torrance will remember for years to come.

πŸŽ‰πŸ³ Exciting News! πŸ³πŸŽ‰

We are ecstatic to announce that we have received a New Initiatives Grant from United Way of Ross County to support our new Teen Cuisine summer program!

Thanks to this generous investment, we are able to open this FREE 10-week hands-on cooking series to ANY Ross County high school students, not just PCMP participants.

Through weekly lessons and hands-oncooking , participants will build practical life skills, learn about nutrition and healthy eating, gain confidence in the kitchen, and discover how to prepare affordable meals for themselves and their families. By equipping teens with these skills, we're helping increase food security, promote healthy habits, and empower young people to make informed choices that benefit their households for years to come.

πŸ“… While the program is open to all Ross County high school students, space is limited! Registration is essential so we can ensure we have enough ingredients and supplies for every participant each week. Interested in joining Teen Cuisine? Register today before spots fill up! https://forms.gle/WzU4drYzWJQdewHb7

We are incredibly grateful to the United Way of Ross County, Walmart Chillicothe - River Trace Lane Grant, and our community donors for believing in this vision and helping us create opportunities for teens to learn skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

πŸŽ“βœ¨ NOW OPEN: The Ge**er Family Pathways Scholarship βœ¨πŸŽ“

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Ge**er Family Pathways Scholarship, a new opportunity created specifically for graduating seniors of the Paper City Mentoring Project!

This scholarship recognizes that success looks different for every young person. While some graduates are headed to college, others may be entering the workforce, pursuing a trade or certification, or taking important steps toward independent living. The Ge**er Family Pathways Scholarship was designed to support those diverse pathways and help remove financial barriers as teens transition into adulthood.

Scholarship funds may be used for a wide range of needs, including:
βœ… College or trade school expenses
βœ… Certification and training programs
βœ… Workforce tools, equipment, and transportation
βœ… Housing and independent living expenses
βœ… Other costs that directly support a successful next step

This is the first year of the Ge**er Family Pathways Scholarship, thanks to the generous support of some long-time supporters and friends of PCMP, and we are thrilled to see our community continue to invest in the futures of our graduating seniors.

πŸ“… Applications are open now and must be submitted by June 10, 2026. Application link and full details available in MentorPro.

Tonight we celebrated our graduating seniors β€” Ashley, Alexis, Harley, and Kelton β€” and we could not be more proud of each of them. πŸŽ“β€οΈ

While not all of them were able to be there in person tonight, we are still celebrating each and every one of them and the incredible accomplishments they’ve achieved.

These seniors have each left their mark in amazing ways. From being leaders, to making others feel welcomed and included, to showing perseverance through challenges, they have represented the very best of our program and our community. We have watched them grow, overcome obstacles, support others, and continue pushing forward toward their goals.

Their futures are bright, and while we are excited to see where life takes them next, we know they will always be part of the PCMP family.

A special shoutout to their mentors who have faithfully shown up, encouraged, listened, supported, and walked alongside them through every season. Your consistency and care matter more than words can express, and tonight is a celebration of your investment too.

Congratulations, seniors! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all the good you will continue to do in this world. πŸ’™

This past week, our Match Specialist, Laken, had the honor of attending the graduation ceremony at Pickaway-Ross CTC and celebrating some truly incredible teens! πŸŽ“

We were especially proud to cheer on students from both our community-based 1:1 mentoring program and our school-based mentoring program, where Laken provided weekly group mentorship for students who may not otherwise have had access to mentorship opportunities.

We are overwhelmingly proud of each and every graduate. We know their stories. We’ve watched them show grit, determination, resilience, and strength while overcoming barriers and they still pushed forward and made it to this moment.

Graduation is more than a ceremony; it’s a testament to their hard work, perseverance, and courage. We can’t wait to see where life takes them next. Congratulations, graduates! We are so proud of you! πŸ’›πŸŽ“

A huge THANK YOU to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 108 for their incredible generosity. Not one, but TWO $1,000 donations to support the youth and families we serve through Paper City Mentoring Project! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβ€οΈ

Their support helps strengthen our mentor matches while also providing critical assistance through our Emergency Fund, which helps meet immediate needs such as food assistance, clothing, hygiene items, transportation, and other basic necessities for teens and families facing difficult circumstances.

Because of community partners like VFW Post #108, our teens know they are seen, supported, and valued. Your continued investment in our youth makes a real and lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful for your partnership and belief in our mission.

Thank you for standing beside us and helping us ensure every teen has the support they need to thrive!
