With a greater determination than ever, I've decided to start working my foundation again. First, I have to say why I slacked off. I lost my drive and determination after my dear friend, Kenny Powell, died of Sarcoidosis. I became overwhelmed with grief, heartache, and frustration...which snowballed and took on a life of its on. I took some time to re-evaluate, rest, and recharge.
In my "absence", I became an Ambassador for the Foundation of Sarcoidosis Research (FSR), I'm serving in my 2nd year, representing and serving Alabama along with Deborah Rice. I traveled to DC this past weekend to attend FSR Ambassador training and congressional briefing on Capital Hill. The training was amazing and very informative but mostly, reinvigorating... sitting and talking to a room full of people who spoke my language..."sarcoidosis". That in itself was powerful beyond words! The congressional briefing was removed from the agenda but I'll be back in DC next year and years to come, standing with and for sarcoidosis warriors, shouting "KICK IN TO STOP SARCOIDOSIS!
I left DC determined more than ever to do whatever needs to be done to STOP SARCOIDOSIS! Thank you for all of the prayers, love, and encouragement, continuously given in this battle to not just save lives but to spare others and yourself from having to fight personally some day.
Love and blessings to you always❤
