Chiefland Astro The Chiefland Astronomy Village is located on the west coast of Florida, one hour west of Gainesville and two hours northwest of Orlando.

It enjoys very dark skies and moderate temperatures at a southernly latitude of 29˚N. Chiefland Astronomy Village is home to The Billy Dodd Observing Field, a members only, deep sky observing facility.
