🌈 “After the Storm”
Genesis 7–9 — Noah, the Flood, and God’s Promise

Main Theme: When we obey God, trust Him, and follow His way, He is faithful—even when life gets stormy.

Key Verse
Genesis 9:13 NKJV:“I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.”

1. Obedience matters, even when we don't understand everything God is doing.
2. God judges sin, but He also provides a way of salvation.
3. God remembers His peopleand is faithful to His promises.
4. God gives new beginnings.
5. The rainbow reminds us ofGod's covenant and faithfulness.

───

📖 PART 1 —
Genesis 7 — The Flood

Noah didn't need everyone's approval to obey God.

🌊
The ark wasn't merely a boat. It was God's provision for Noah and his family.

**
“God still provides a way of salvation. We don't save ourselves—we respond to what God has provided.”
**

🌧️ PART 2 — When the Waters Came
Read selected portions of Genesis 7:17–24 NKJV.

**Sometimes faith means trusting God when you can't see what He's doing.**

🕊️ PART 3 — Genesis 8: God Gives a New Beginning
Read Genesis 8:1 NKJV:
“Then God remembered Noah…”

“Does this mean God had forgotten Noah?”
No!
“Remembered” here communicates God's attention and faithfulness toward Noah.

Noah didn't wait until everything was perfect to worship God.

🌈 PART 4 — Genesis 9: God's Covenant
Read Genesis 9:12–17 NKJV.

“What sign did God give Noah?”
The rainbow.
God made a covenant with Noah and the earth.
The rainbow became a reminder of God's promise.

Every time you see a rainbow, think:
“God keeps His promises.”
But don't stop there.

“What other promises from God's Word can we remember when we're having a difficult time?”

“God is faithful because…”

• God answers prayer.
• God forgives.
• God provides.
• God gives us strength.
• God never leaves us.

“The rainbow was a reminder of God's covenant.
God is faithful in every season.

Genesis 5 & 6

⭐ Three Things to Remember

1. Sin has consequences.
Genesis 5 repeatedly reminds us that sin brought death into the world.

2. Your choices affect others.
Like ripples in water, our choices spread beyond ourselves.

3. You can walk with God even when the world doesn't.
Enoch did it.
Noah did it.
And you can do it too.

What Can We Learn From Cain and Abel?
YA service re-cap 👇🏼

Lesson 1: God cares about our heart.❤️
We shouldn't just ask:
“Did I do it?”
We should ask:
“Why am I doing it?”

───

Lesson 2: Jealousy can become dangerous.⚠️
Jealousy can begin with:
“I wish I had that.”
Then become:
“Why do they get it?”
Then:
“They don't deserve it.”
And eventually:
“I wish something bad would happen to them.”
We need to stop jealousy early.

───

Lesson 3: Anger needs to be surrendered to God. 😡
God warned Cain before Cain killed Abel.
That means Cain had an opportunity to choose differently.
We also have opportunities to stop before we say or do something we'll regret.

───

Lesson 4: We are responsible for our choices. 👍🏼
Someone may hurt you.
Someone may disappoint you.
Someone may treat you unfairly.
Butyou are still responsible for how you respond.

───

Lesson 5: We should care about others. 🥰
Cain asked:
“Am I my brother's keeper?”
As Christians, we should have the opposite attitude.
“Yes, I should care about my brother and sister.”
We should encourage, help, forgive, and pray for others.

This week we went to Dunkin Donuts in Chiefland to do Bible study for youth!

We learned from God’s Word to create habits that are in line with His Word.

Godly habits such as:
• Praying
• Going to church
• Cutting anything off that will lead us in temptation
• Stepping out in faith
• Spending quality time with the Lord
• Studying the Word of God daily

Evaluate your day to day routines to determine if there are bad habits that must be destroyed and replace them with Godly habits.
