Halfway Home Cat Rescue Inc. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue group dedicated to the care and adoption of cats and kittens.

We have approximately twenty wonderful foster homes in Western Mass. All of our cats and kittens are fostered in safe, loving homes until appropriate forever homes are found. Our foster kitties are part of our families-- they do not live in cages.

Sue (born in February) is a sweet little girl who is looking for a loving home of her own.

Sue came to us after her elderly family had to move and could no longer keep her. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly and soon shows her sweet personality.

Sue loves both wet and dry Friskies food and is always happy to accept some treats! Her favorite toy is a ball with a bell in the middle, which keeps her entertained and ready to play.

She gets along wonderfully with other cats and would love a home where she can have a kitty friend. She can also be adopted with her foster sister, Queenie, if you are looking for a pair.

Bailey is a sweet, playful young boy, around 1–2 years old, who is doing wonderfully as he adjusts to life as a tripod. Don’t let three legs fool you—Bailey hasn’t slowed down! He loves to play, enjoys plenty of pets, and is always interested in what’s going on around him.

Bailey would thrive with experienced cat owners who understand feline body language and are willing to respect his boundaries. One of Bailey’s quirks is that he may give a little bite when he sees a hand or arm because he wants attention. Once you learn to recognize his signals and avoid putting your hands in that situation, he does just fine. Because of this behavior, a home without children would be best for him.

While Bailey has been separated from the other cats in his foster home while he heals, he has shown a strong interest in making feline friends. With a proper introduction, he may be very happy sharing his home with other cats.

Meet Mochi and Tofu!
Born July 3rd

These two sweet sisters will be ready for adoption soon, and they are completely inseparable. They each have very different personalities, but together they make the perfect little pair!

Tofu is a super sweet little girl who loves to play—especially with her sister and, of course, shoe laces! She can be shy and skittish at first, but once she feels comfortable, her playful personality comes out.

Mochi is our little spicy girl! She is VERY playful and loves being independent. She isn't against pets and cuddles, but she'd usually rather be busy playing! Her favorite thing besides playing? Eating!

The girls have not really had a chance to meet other cats or dogs. With proper introductions though, they would most likely be ok.

Black Kitty around (3-5 years old) is looking for his forever home, and he has a whole lot to say and a whole lot of love to give.

This handsome guy wants to be part of everything. Black Kitty is extremely chatty and will happily talk your ear off, follow you from room to room, and keep you company wherever you are. He is affectionate and loves being close to his person, whether that means curling up beside you, climbing onto your lap, or snuggling with you in bed. He is also active and playful, with plenty of energy and a love for toys, playtime, and anything he can chase.

Black Kitty has some very specific requirements for his new home. These are essential to keeping him happy and safe. He needs a child free home where he is the only cat. He also requires a secure entry. Black Kitty was previously an outdoor cat and is still adjusting to indoor life, so his new home must have a secure entryway to prevent him from accidentally slipping outside.

Black Kitty has a heart condition but is currently doing well and does not need medication. He will need routine follow-up care, including a blood pressure and thyroid check in about 6 months and an echocardiogram in 9 months.

Born in May 2025, Mama Moo may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she’s the sweetest, calmest, gentlest girl.

She would thrive in a quiet, peaceful home where she can take her time settling in. She’s also comfortable around kids and other cats, making her a wonderful little companion once she feels safe and secure.

Mama Moo doesn’t ask for much, just patience, kindness, and a peaceful place to call home. In return, she’ll give you all the love her little heart has to offer.

Winnie is a sweet little soul with a big personality just waiting to bloom.

Born in October 2024, Winnie is a gentle, sensitive girl waiting for the person who will see just how special she truly is.

New people can be overwhelming for Winnie, and she may hide when visitors arrive. She’ll do best in a calm, quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace, ideally without dogs.

Once she feels safe, Winnie’s adorable personality comes shining through. She loves sunny naps, Churu treats, toys, and her scratch pad, which can lead to some seriously entertaining zoomies! She also enjoys a good feather duster play session before bed.

Now that the cooler weather is here, Winnie has discovered one of the best things about fall and winter: curling up like a little donut, squished right beside her favorite person. There’s nothing quite like having a warm, cozy Winnie tucked up next to you.

Winnie may not be a traditional lap cat, but she loves being close to her people. She’ll happily keep you company and “chat” with you throughout the day in her own sweet way.

There’s something incredibly special about earning the trust of a cat like Winnie. Those little moments when she chooses to sit beside you, play with you, or curl up nearby feel like the sweetest gifts.

Cupcake is a handsome black kitten with a big purr and an even bigger heart! Born around June 21st, this sweet boy loves food, cuddles, and especially his beloved Churu treats.

He may be a little shy at first, but with some patience, gentle kindness, and attention, he warms up quickly and is ready to fill your home with cozy vibes. Cupcake enjoys the company of other cats and may do well with dogs with a calm, gradual introduction.

Chococat is a domestic shorthair black kitten born around June 21st, with lots of energy and an even bigger heart!

She may start out a little spicy and hiss when meeting new people, but once she warms up, she absolutely loves being petted, enjoying her meals, and getting tasty treats!

Chococat gets along with other cats, especially her siblings, and is curious and brave around dogs. Since dogs are still new to her, slow and patient introductions will help her feel comfortable.
