💙 The Youth of the Year journey continues!

As the second competition in our three-center series, the spotlight turned to the Chico Teen Center, where an amazing group of teens stepped forward to share their stories, accomplishments, and leadership experiences.

This year’s competition was incredibly close, and our judges spent a long time carefully discussing the candidates before making their final decision.

Congratulations to Nic, our Chico Youth of the Year! 🎉 Congratulations as well to Alex and Levi, who earned runner-up honors. All three teens represented the Club with confidence, passion, and leadership, and we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments.

Join us in celebrating Nic, as he continues to inspire those around them and represent the future of our community. ✨💙

Stay tuned as we head to our final competition and reveal the Youth of the Year winner from the Oroville Teen Center!

Throwback Thirty Years!

Meet Shane. Shane first walked through the doors of the Boys & Girls Clubs as an 8th grader, where he found encouragement, mentorship, and opportunities that helped him grow into a leader. His dedication and character earned him the Youth of the Year title in both 2013 and 2014.
He later worked at the Oroville Teen Center and the Chico Teen Center, mentoring Club members and helping create the same supportive environment that once helped him. Every time that Shane is on leave, he makes sure to visit our Clubs to say hi to his past mentors and reconnect with our Club kids.

With big dreams of working in aviation, Shane set his sights on becoming an aircraft engineer. Today, he’s living that passion as an avionics technician serving in the U.S. Air Force. Shane reflects on how the Boys & Girls Clubs helped open doors and give him the confidence to pursue his goals.

of donors like you, young people like Shane have the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to build great futures. Continue supporting programs for local youth and their bright futures by clicking the button above.

Playoff season is here, and we’ve gotta give a huge shoutout to EJ from our . This kid had an unbeliever basket season - his team recently won the Eastern Athletic League Section Playoffs! He’s grown up in the Club playing ball, and it shows - his work ethic, growth, and leadership stood out all year. Proud of how hard he’s works. Congrats to a great young man and teammate! 🏀🏀
