Please note that the Boys & Girls Clubs in Chico will be closed during Spring Break. This includes the Chico Clubhouse, Chico Phoenix Club, and the Chico Teen Center. Regular programming will resume the following week.

Throwback Thirty Years!

Meet Shane. Shane first walked through the doors of the Boys & Girls Clubs as an 8th grader, where he found encouragement, mentorship, and opportunities that helped him grow into a leader. His dedication and character earned him the Youth of the Year title in both 2013 and 2014.
He later worked at the Oroville Teen Center and the Chico Teen Center, mentoring Club members and helping create the same supportive environment that once helped him. Every time that Shane is on leave, he makes sure to visit our Clubs to say hi to his past mentors and reconnect with our Club kids.

With big dreams of working in aviation, Shane set his sights on becoming an aircraft engineer. Today, he’s living that passion as an avionics technician serving in the U.S. Air Force. Shane reflects on how the Boys & Girls Clubs helped open doors and give him the confidence to pursue his goals.

Playoff season is here, and we’ve gotta give a huge shoutout to EJ from our . This kid had an unbeliever basket season - his team recently won the Eastern Athletic League Section Playoffs! He’s grown up in the Club playing ball, and it shows - his work ethic, growth, and leadership stood out all year. Proud of how hard he’s works. Congrats to a great young man and teammate! 🏀🏀

November is all about giving thanks and giving back, and the teens at Boys and Girls Teen Centers really got into the spirit with their Week of Kindness. They whipped up delicious cookies and created thoughtful thank-you cards for our local heroes.

This wonderful initiative helped the centers express their gratitude and build new community connections. The teens also got to meet local first responders, who came with shiny, clean fire trucks for photos and high-fives—a truly heartwarming experience for everyone involved!
