Our Story

North State Writers (NSW) is a branch of the California Writer’s Club and the only central valley branch north of Sacramento. It has a service area covering northern California from the Yuba/Sutter counties on the south to the Oregon border on the north; and from the slopes of the Coastal Range on the west, to the Nevada border on the east. The NSW represents a broad range of writing interests. While nearly half of the members are published authors, the NSW presents programs , workshops, and speakers which are designed to serve the needs of both established and aspiring authors, writers, editors, illustrators, publishers, and agents.

The NSW meets at 6 pm on the 3rd Monday of every month at the Verteran’s Memorial Hall in Chico. Meetings are free and open to the public.
