Join us in celebration of the arts organizations that make this community vibrant with art. This special showcase will feature contributions from MONCA, 1078 Gallery, Chico Art Center, Friends of the Chico Community Ballet, Stonewall Alliance, Inspire School of the Arts, The Blue Room Theater, Upstate Community Enhancement Foundation, Pedal Press, and Legacy Stage—all recipients of the City Arts Grant in the 2023–24 and 2024–25 cycles.

A Celebration of the Arts in Chico & Fundraiser for Commission-Led Public-Facing Art Projects

Friday, October 17th

6:00 pm Doors, Mingling, Interacting with Art & Raffle

7:30 pm Variety Show including the presentation of the Mayor's Award for Arts & Culture

There will be light refreshments and a no-host bar. Bring your own T-shirt (light colored) to print a souvenir with Pedal Press. Purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win artwork from local artists and goodie baskets from local businesses. Bid in the silent auction on art formerly hung in the COBA boards in Diamond Alley and take home a relic of Chico art.

Emceed by the Chair of the Arts Commission, Bonnie Pipkin (of Bonfire Storytelling) & the Vice Chair, Vianna Boring.

This will be the community art event of the year!

Project Update! Chico Arts and Culture Foundation (CACF) board members are proud of the creative project that local artist Christine MacShane and Everhart Village Residents implemented to improve their tiny house neighborhood. The CACF Neighborhood Art Lift Program added improvements including resident-painted pavers, shade coverings, and garden boxes. Pictured with former city of Chico Arts Commissioner Andy Holcomb who made a donation to help fund the project. Donations and inquiries can be made at chicoartsandculture.org Chico Housing Action Team is working every day to make safe, affordable housing a reality in Butte County: volunteer or donate today!

CACF’s last night at the TNM featuring local artists that we don’t typically get to see. A big thanks to all the artists that showed up over the summer! We had the pleasure of hosting you in our booth bridging artists and community! Thanks to Manny and Alex who joined us at the market on Thursday! Follow their wonderful art and support local art!

Next up, artist Lauren Meichtry’s “Rainbow Map” sponsored by Explore Butte County is wrapped at the corner of Fourth and Main streets. Lauren is known for her thematic map making styles in her art. She also created the map for the downtown art tour map with Travel Chico! These wrapped utility boxes are another great creative project keeping our downtown full of artistic beauty. Keep a look out around downtown and join us First Saturday at “Our Hands” at 10am for the Downtown Art Tour and all the new artistic additions to our beautiful downtown Chico.

It’s that time again! Aug 2nd brings about another first Saturday Downtown Art Tour! This Month features our special tour guide leader and president of the board, Mary Gardner! A wealth of knowledge about the history of art in downtown! Don’t miss it!

Tour begins at “Our Hands” sculpture on the corner of 4th and Wall St. Downtown. At 10am Saturday. Walking tour lasts about an hour, free to all! Hope to see you there!
