Cultivating Community NV

Cultivating Community NV CCNV is a partnership of organizations whose projects work to strengthen the North Valley community through local, sustainable food.

The ultimate purpose of CCNV is to build a local, sustainable food system through sustainable practices with directed resources for historically underserved populations. These organizations are: GRUB Education Program, CUSC's College of Agriculture, The Center for Nutrition & Activity Promotion (CNAP), and Collaboratively Creating Health Access Opportunities & Services (cCHAOS). CCNV's Mission is

to increase food security in Butte County and surrounding farm area, starting with the under-served. We offer education, consultation, networking, and targeted resources to support students, small scale and low-income farmers, and under-served communities to grow, eat, sell, preserve, and grow more local food. CCNV is supported by a 2011 Specialty Crop Block Grant from the California Department of Food & Agriculture awarded to the Chico State University Chico Research Foundation, directed by Dr. Lee Altier.
