The ol’ saying it takes a village to raise a child, well in scouts it takes adult volunteers to help transform kids into youth into young adults.
Volunteering is never easy and is NEVER just a one and a half hour a week commitment. It is a commitment that comes with dedicating time, using your vacation time, burnout, and occasionally dealing with a kid or 2 that makes you question why you do it in the first place or continue to do it.
Our local Paradise Scout Troop 194 has some amazing volunteers. We try very hard to camp once a month. Sometimes leadership is not available or it is just too hot in July and August to try and camp locally so we opt to do a pool night or other activity in these months instead.
I would like to take a moment to HIGHLIGHT our current adult leader volunteers by sharing the number of camping nights they have voluntarily spent camping with youth since they have been in Troop 194. If you run across these people, please spend a moment and thank them for what they have done and continue to do!!
Scoutmaster:
Scott Blevins

Committee Chairman:
Mike Christensen

Advancement Chairman:

Chartered Organization Rep:

Assistant Scoutmaster:

As a reference, we currently have 3 youth scouts in the Troop and here are there numbers.

Griffin 21 nights
If you have a youth that is interested in Scouting, reach out and let’s talk. We are a small troop, but as you can see from the numbers a very active camping troop.
Thanks again to all of the adult leader volunteers that make this possible!!
