Swing Fore Cesar & Law Enforcement Mental Health Awareness Raising funds for various scholarships and law enforcement mental health awareness, in remembrance of Sergeant Cesar Sandoval. Cesar Sandoval.
(1)

Dear Valued Community Member,

On May 3, 2024, we will be hosting the inaugural Swing “Fore” Cesar & Law Enforcement Mental Health Awareness
Golf Tournament to raise funds for various scholarships and awareness in remembrance of Sgt. Cesar was a proud father, grandfather, husband, and Retired Chico Police Department Sergeant. Cesar worked in law enforcement for over 28 years while working for the

Chico Police Department since 1999. Cesar worked a variety of assignments including patrol, SRO, Detective, HNT, Sergeant, and Target Sergeant. Cesar was also bilingual speaking both English and Spanish. Cesar always put others before himself, in pursuit of public service. He lived life to the fullest, loved his family and friends unconditionally, and is greatly missed. With his loss we are writing you asking for your support in our mission to bring awareness to Law Enforcement Mental Health. With the support of volunteers, and donors like you we have the ability to help our community, and those who
selflessly serve it. Every dollar counts. Please become a partner in Law Enforcement Mental Health awareness and
join us on our mission to give back to those who have given so much to our community. Your generous donations will support the Cesar Sandoval Scholarship at Willows High School, establish the Sgt. Cesar Sandoval Scholarship at Butte Community College Police Academy, and supporting the Butte Strong First
Responder Wellness Unit for increased access to services. Kindest Regards,

Swing Fore Cesar & Law Enforcement Mental Health Awareness Committee

Wow, what an AMAZING day we had with you all at the 3rd annual Swing Fore Cesar Golf Tournament! Listen to what our founder, Brian Rodrigo, shared with Action News Now ⬇️

More highlights/game day fun to come😊

Organizers want law enforcement officers, first responders and civilians to know it's OK to speak about mental health and ask for support whenever needed.

Thank you Chico Police Officers' Association for your continued support! 🖤💙

We are deeply grateful to the Family of Alice Aceves for their heartfelt donation to the Swing Fore Cesar Golf Tournament in memory of Alice Aceves. In her honor, they have generously donated a vintage cookie jar and four dozen homemade cookies to support this year’s fundraiser.

Alice was known for her warmth, generosity, and love of bringing people together. An avid cookie jar collector, she built a treasured collection of more than 300 unique cookie jars over the years. She was also a devoted supporter of law enforcement and often showed her appreciation by preparing homemade salsa, enchiladas, and Spanish rice for officers with Butte County Probation. Caring for others was simply who she was.

Although Alice lost her battle with cancer in 2021, her spirit continues to live on through the joy she shared and the traditions she created. Her beloved cookie jars have already helped raise more than $2,000 through dessert auctions benefiting the Glenn County Heritage Foundation and California Women in Agriculture. We know she would be thrilled to see them continuing to bring smiles, connection, and support to worthy causes.

Please join us in thanking her family for honoring Alice’s memory and allowing her legacy of kindness and generosity to continue making a difference. 💙⛳️🍪

We pause to honor the life and service of Michael Nicholas, Deputy Probation Officer (End of Watch 2006).

Twenty years ago, DPO Nicholas served with Butte County Probation, where he was known for his professionalism, strong work ethic, and the positivity he brought to those around him. He was always smiling, had a great sense of humor, and was a valued part of the team.

Those who worked alongside him remember not just the work he did, but the light he brought into the workplace every day. His presence made a lasting impact—one that continues to be felt.

His memory serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health, and the need for continued compassion, awareness, and support within our profession and our communities. It calls us to look out for one another and to create an environment where people feel supported and able to seek help when needed.

We honor his memory by remembering the person he was and the difference he made. His legacy lives on. 💙⛳️
