For the 29th consecutive year, Chico Firefighters held the adopt-a-family program to support local children. Volunteers gathered and wrapped hundreds of toys. Chico Firefighters were assisted by dozens of volunteers from Rush Personnel , the Enloe Foundation, Wal-Mart, Hope Commons Church, Amber Grove Neighborhood and California Water Service. This program has a mission of delivering a positive impact to local families during the holiday season.

Deepika is a strong supporter of public safety and continues to dedicate considerable time learning about issues facing local firefighters. She has played an integral role in modernizing the apparatus fleet for the fire department, allowing firefighters to more effectively respond to emergencies. We believe she has and will continue to make public safety a top priority for the citizens of Chico.

Thank you Gilroy Fire Fighters Association IAFF L-2805 for your swift action and commitment to saving life.

The Gilroy Firefighters were in Chico to assist with the Park Fire. After days of working on the fire line, the Gilroy Firefighters happened to be in the right place at the right time. Their actions were critical in saving the life of a child. This incident highlights what it means to be a California Firefighter.

Chico Firefighters joined our community members for the “Let Freedom Ring” Festival at Chapman Park yesterday. The event was hosted by Chico Area Recreation & Park District and included free food, live music and giveaways. Our crews got to work and grilled up nearly 1,000 hot dogs for the event. Thank you CARD for the invite. We’ll see you next year!
