We are so excited to continue bringing the GROWN Program to McManus Elementary this summer! πŸŒ±β˜€οΈ

Summer garden learning gives students the opportunity to stay connected with nature, explore healthy foods, participate in hands-on activities, and continue learning through outdoor experiences even while school is out. We love creating spaces where students can grow confidence, curiosity, and meaningful connections with the environment around them.

The McManus garden has continued to grow into such a beautiful and welcoming learning space, and we are excited for another summer full of planting, exploration, creativity, and garden fun with students! πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

A special thank you to everyone helping support and care for the McManus garden space and making outdoor learning opportunities possible for local students.

It has been wonderful watching this garden continue to grow into such a vibrant learning environment for students and staff.

We can’t wait to continue teaching at Little Chico Creek over the summer and keep the learning, planting, and garden fun going all season long! β˜€οΈπŸŒΏ

A huge thank you to California Climate Action Corps for inviting Butte County Local Food Network to be part of their Thursday Night Market booth this season! πŸŒ±πŸ’š

It was such a great opportunity to connect with community members, share information about the GROWN Program and local food efforts, and spend time alongside others who care deeply about environmental stewardship and community resilience.

We are so grateful for the support, kindness, and partnership from Climate Action Corps and all of the work they continue to do throughout our community. A huge thank you to Life Lab for creating such an inspiring and valuable learning experience for garden educators! πŸŒ±πŸ’š

we recently had the opportunity to participate in Life Lab’s garden education training, where we learned new ideas, teaching strategies, and hands-on approaches that I’m excited to bring back to the GROWN Program and the students we serve here in Butte County.

One of my favorite parts was connecting with other educators who are passionate about outdoor learning, nutrition education, school gardens, and helping children build meaningful relationships with nature.

Thank you, Life Lab, for the incredible work you do to support garden-based education and educators across the country. We appreciate all the knowledge, inspiration, and resources you provide! 🌿
