Join us at Bumblebee Community Garden for a free community stewardship workshop!

In partnership with the Butte County Fire Safe Council, we'll explore practical ways to care for our land, reduce wildfire risk, and build healthier garden spaces for the future.

During this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to:

• Create a Stewardship Action Plan
• Conduct a Defensible Space Assessment
• Build Healthy Soil and Compost Systems

Whether you're a gardener, homeowner, volunteer, or simply interested in caring for your community, this workshop offers valuable tools you can put into practice right away.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Cuisine du Marché and helped make the evening such a success!

We are incredibly grateful to our community members, sponsors, volunteers, musicians, farmers, and supporters who came together under the walnut trees at GRUB CSA Farm to celebrate local food, community, and the work of the Butte County Local Food Network.

A special thank you to Chef Obi Gagne for preparing a beautiful French-inspired farm-to-table dinner, Chris Wolf for providing wonderful live music, and our generous sponsors for helping make this event possible.

Because of your support, BCLFN can continue connecting our community to fresh local food, supporting school and community gardens, providing garden-based education through the GROWN Program, and building a healthier, more resilient local food system throughout Butte County.

Whether you purchased a ticket, donated, volunteered, sponsored the event, or simply helped spread the word, you played an important role in making this evening memorable.

From all of us at Butte County Local Food Network, thank you for believing in local food, local farmers, and the power of community.

We are already looking forward to gathering with you again soon!

What an incredible day at the Ridge Stewardship Event! 🌲🔥🌱

It was amazing to see community members come together to learn, share ideas, and support wildfire resilience and environmental stewardship here on the Ridge. From live biochar demonstrations and regenerative gardening practices to conversations about fire-safe landscaping and community preparedness, the day was filled with learning, connection, and hands-on experiences.

We loved seeing so many people working together, asking questions, and building stronger community connections around caring for our land and environment. Events like these remind us how powerful small actions can be when a community comes together.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, taught, and helped make this event such a meaningful and successful day for Paradise and surrounding areas!

This week, students across our school garden programs explored the Three Sisters companion planting method — a traditional Indigenous growing practice that teaches how corn, beans, and squash work together to support one another in the garden. 🌽🫘🎃

Students learned how corn provides a natural trellis for beans to climb, beans help return nutrients to the soil, and squash leaves help shade the ground and retain moisture. Through hands-on learning, storytelling, planting activities, and garden discussions, students discovered how plants can work together as a team while also learning about cultural agricultural knowledge that has been passed down for generations.

We love seeing students make connections between nature, science, teamwork, and healthy food systems through outdoor learning experiences like these. 💚

Students helped prepare and enjoy tacos made with local produce while learning more about where healthy food comes from and the importance of supporting local agriculture. It’s always exciting to see students connect with fresh ingredients and try foods grown within our community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible and continue creating meaningful food education experiences for students at Ridgeview High School!
