For anyone who might be wondering, ballot counting has continued and there was an update earlier today. Percentages have remained remarkably stable, with a very small movement in the "NO" direction. By this point, nearly all of the ballots should be counted with just a few outliers still to be resolved.

Stop Valley’s Edge organizers gathered to track the results of the Valley’s Edge referendum vote. After polls closed, more than 60% of votes were against measures O and P, striking down the proposed Valley’s Edge development in southeast Chico.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to defeat Measures O and P! The other side may have had $473,000 to spend(!) but we had scores of dedicated volunteers willing to give their time, energy and heart to the cause. Next, we'll build on this momentum to elect city councilors who will focus on smarter, more sustainable ways to grow Chico.

Valley’s Edge appears to have lost at the ballot! First results show “No” winning by about 62%.

Last day to VOTE NO on O and P! Here’s a list of Chico Ty ballot drop boxes open until 8pm tonight. You can drop your ballot in any Butte County ballot drop box, or get it in the mail TODAY. Voter assistance centers where you can get help are also available (see second image). Let’s do this!

The 1,447-acre, 2,777-unit planned community would be Chico’s largest, and last January the city council adopted a series of resolutions to allow Valley’s Edge to move forward into the foothills.
