Project Healing Waters - Chico Rod Building 2024.

On Monday, January 15th eight of our Project Healing Waters veteran participants had their first of 11 rod building classes taught by Ed Migale. Ed has been building fishing rods professionally for over 30 years and has been volunteering with PHW for the last four years. Our final class is Monday March 25th. At the end of that class, all eight vets will walk away with their very own custom built fly rod that they created themselves. They all can’t wait to hit the water to catch a fish on a fly rod that they built. The group picture that you see are the vets holding a very special 6wt rod with a custom engraved grip and fighting butt that they all had a hand in building. That rod was auctioned off at the Chico Area Flyfishers fundraising dinner for $650, all of which will go toward helping fund Project Healing Waters – Chico.
A big thank you to all the participants, volunteers and those who have donated to PHW- Chico for making this program such a success. You all have played an important roll in helping heal those who have served.
