"Why Chickasha?"
It's a fair question. Why would a family choose to build a home here? Why would a developer invest millions of dollars in a new housing addition? Why would a company move its business here? And when visitors stop in our community, what should they remember us for? The answer isn't just one thing…It's all of them.

A housing developer doesn't invest in a community because of what it is today. They invest because of what they believe it will become. They look for growing populations, expanding employment opportunities, quality schools, safe neighborhoods, parks, healthcare, and local leadership that has a vision for the future. Chickasha checks those boxes.

Over the past several years we've seen hundreds of new homes built, major investments in infrastructure, continued improvements to our schools, expanding healthcare, and one of the most exciting economic development projects in Oklahoma at the Chickasha Airport Industrial Park. Developers notice those things. Businesses do, too.

Our location along Interstate 44 places us within easy reach of Oklahoma City, Lawton, and Wichita Falls. Canadian Valley Technology Center continues to prepare a skilled workforce. The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma brings talent, energy, and innovation to our community. Our business climate is welcoming, and partnerships between the City, Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Council, schools, and countless volunteers demonstrate what can happen when everyone rows in the same direction. In the USA, the South is the fastest growing part of the Country and Counties just outside of Metro areas are the fastest growing. That is true in Oklahoma where Grady County is the 6th fastest growing County in the State!

All age groups in the South grew faster than in any other region from 2020 to 2025, primarily fueled by outlying metro counties.
