A legacy that will forever be remembered. ❤️🖤

UAW Local 551 proudly gathered to honor the life, service, and lasting legacy of our late Financial Secretary, Steve Roman, with the official unveiling of Roman’s Way, the street located directly in front of our union hall.

This special dedication serves as a permanent reminder of Steve’s commitment to our union, his dedication to our membership, and the impact he made on those around him.

While he may no longer be with us, his legacy will continue to inspire generations of union members who walk Roman’s Way.

A life of service. A legacy of solidarity. A name that will never be forgotten.

Rest in power, Brother Steve Roman. ✊🏽

Civil rights are workers’ rights. ✊🏽 The Civil Rights Conference at Black Lake brought us together to learn, connect, and strengthen our commitment to equality and justice. Through education and solidarity, we continue building a union where every voice matters and every member belongs. The work continues in our workplaces and communities! 💪🏽

Recently, a few of our UAW Local 551 members attended the 2026 Midwest Labor Press Association conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We sharpened our skills in storytelling, photography, video, and communications so we can keep our members informed and make workers’ voices heard. 🎥✊

Take a look at the experience!
