Day 5 of session 2 of WeR!C camp 2026! Today was our final full day of camp! Our day began with more practice of the camp theme song as well as some fun activities! Today we had a bracelet making workshop, learned about stage presence, and got an update on what’s been happening with the Youth Action Committee, our group for 13-18 year olds who do year-round volunteering and other fun and creative outings. Our campers had their final instrument lessons today, during which a few classes joined together to host a spontaneous open mic! The most exciting part of the day was our afternoon dress rehearsal which then lead into all band practice!
Tomorrow our campers head to the recording studio to record the songs they’ve spent the past week creating! Sunday is our End of Camp Showcase at Thalia Hall, make sure to grab your tickets to see our campers’ hard work come to life!

On Wednesday, campers began creating our shoutout wall. Similar to our “I rock” wall, campers wrote down shoutouts to other people at camp. Throughout the week the shoutout wall grows larger and larger as campers write more. At the end of the week, the shoutouts are collected and distributed to each camper for them to keep. These shoutouts are always a special part of camp that our campers look forward to.

Day 4 of session 2 of WeR!C camp 2026! Today was another busy day as campers worked on finishing their songs. The morning began with instrument lessons as well as button making and zine workshops. Campers spent their afternoons in band practice, during which they got to take band pictures! Major shoutout to our hardworking volunteer, Frankie, for taking the photos! The afternoon workshops consisted of DIY guitar strap making, music history, gear safety, more zines, fashion, and DJing, which included a very fun dance party! Our day ended with a performance from Steeplechase, a band that includes two of our rockstar volunteers!
We can’t believe there’s only one more full day of camp left until recording and camp showcase! Get tickets for the showcase at the link in our bio!

Day 3 of session 2 of WeR!C camp 2026! Campers began their mornings with part 2 of the identity workshops where they spent time getting to know each other more and collaborate with their new friends on posters. Campers continued to learn more about their instruments in instrument instruction. In the afternoon, campers continued writing their songs in band practice. They also went to a handful of different workshops including drag with Julez Osco, microphone making with SHURE, gear safety, zine making, and DJing. The day ended with a spectacular performance and lip syncing battle hosted by Julez Osco!

On Tuesday, our campers wrote down “I Rock” statements about themselves and they were hung up in the gym. Writing these statements is a way for the campers to remind themselves why they rock. It helps them to build confidence and feel more comfortable to express themselves while at camp and outside of camp. We keep these up all week for the campers to revisit and add to.
