The mentoring program at King’s College Lagos, in collaboration with A Boy and His Dream Foundation, continues to shape the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs.
Designed to raise young boys to become self-sufficient, the program focuses on building an entrepreneurial mindset, strong leadership skills, personal discipline, and the confidence to solve real-world problems.
Today’s session was both impactful and empowering. Sunny led the mentorship discussion, engaging students in practical problem-solving rooted in their everyday environment. Despite minor technical challenges, the session remained highly productive.
One standout moment came from Sulaiman, who identified student hunger in his community as a pressing issue. He proposed a business idea centered around providing affordable, hygienic morning snacks to students. Through guided discussion, the idea evolved beyond donuts to a broader focus on nutritious options, business planning, and sustainability.
Sunny emphasized the importance of education, skill development, and disciplined ex*****on, while also introducing real-world concepts such as startup capital, profit margins, and loan responsibility. Sulaiman has now been tasked with developing a full business plan and engaging his school leadership to bring the idea to life.
This is what transformation looks like—moving from ideas to action, and from dependence to creation.
