The Boulevard of Chicago's Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Impact Report is here!

In FY26, The Boulevard continued to provide medical respite care, housing support, behavioral health services, and holistic care to individuals who needed it the most. Behind every number in our impact report is a neighbor who received care, found stability, and was connected to resources that helped them take a step toward healing.

The Boulevard of Chicago extends a big thank you to the incredible volunteer group from Crowe for spending the morning with us last month for their annual Day! 💚🌿

The team jumped right in by helping care for our garden and picking up trash around our Medical Respite facility, then spent time playing games and connecting with residents.

We so appreciate volunteers who take the time to complete projects while also building relationships, creating moments of joy, and reminding our residents that they're supported by a caring community.

Last month The Boulevard of Chicago's Associate Board wrapped up their annual strategy session with an evening of volunteering in The Boulevard's garden!🌱💚

After planning for another impactful year of fundraising, volunteering, and advocacy, the group rolled up their sleeves to help prepare our garden by pulling weeds, watering plants, and supporting the space where fresh vegetables are grown for our residents.

Our Associate Board plays a vital role in advancing The Boulevard's mission through fundraising, volunteerism, community engagement, and advocacy. We're so grateful to them for stepping up and taking action to make an impact!

At the end of June, The Boulevard of Chicago kicked off our new strategic plan, "Expanding Medical Respite, Strengthening Systems" with a staff celebration!

The morning was filled with a delicious breakfast, team-building games, giveaways, and time to connect as we looked ahead to the future of our organization. The celebration then wrapped up with a surprise when two staff members presented our CEO with a certificate of appreciation signed by the staff. Together, we celebrated the incredible team that makes our mission possible and the exciting work ahead as we continue expanding access to compassionate, holistic care for one of Chicago's most vulnerable populations.

At the beginning of June members of The Boulevard of Chicago's leadership team traveled to Florida for the 2026 National Health Care for the Homeless Conference & Policy Symposium, where they presented on Optimizing Operations and Funding to Maximize Impact and Sustainability for Medical Respite Programs.

The conference also marked a special achievement for Dr. Sabina Wong, Clinic Coordinator of the PCC Community Wellness Center Clinic at The Boulevard, who was honored with the 2026 Karen Rotondo Award for Outstanding Service in recognition of her compassionate leadership and dedication to serving individuals experiencing homelessness.

Thank you to the National Health Care for the Homeless Council for hosting another outstanding conference and creating opportunities to learn, collaborate, and strengthen our collective impact.

Earlier this month, residents and staff at The Boulevard of Chicago came together to celebrate Juneteenth with an afternoon of delicious food, games, music, and community. ❤️💛💚

As we honored this important day in our nation's history, we also celebrated the strength, resilience, and rich contributions of Black communities. Moments like these create opportunities to build a sense of community that is so important to healing.

Fresh cuts, good food, and great company! 💈💚

Last month, The Boulevard of Chicago welcomed local barber Blendzz by Junior to our medical respite facility for a special day of barber services, conversation, and community. Residents enjoyed fresh haircuts while our kitchen team fired up the grill on the patio, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

Last week, The Boulevard of Chicago welcomed community members, partners, supporters, volunteers, and advocates to our 2026 Annual Luncheon: Stronger Together, Building Systems That Heal.

Guests heard inspiring remarks from keynote speaker Bobby Watts, enjoyed a program led by emcee Evrod Cassimy, and joined us in celebrating our two incredible award honorees for their outstanding contributions to our community.

One of the most powerful moments of the afternoon was a video featuring Boulevard residents and staff, highlighting the impact of medical respite care, housing support, and the healing power of community. (Watch it at the link below!) Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we also exceeded our $50,000 paddle raise goal, raising more than $60,000 during the event alone! 🎉
