Where we live can shape how wellness feels.
A ZIP code can influence how close we are to mental health care, safe spaces, transportation, fresh food, trusted support, and other resources that help us navigate life. When those resources are limited or difficult to access, the impact can reach far beyond individual stress: it can affect families, relationships, and whole communities.
That’s why community wellness matters.
Through resource navigation, psychoeducation workshops, support groups, and community outreach, Me in the Making Wellness works across Chicago’s South Side and South Suburbs to help connect people with support that meets them where they are.
Health equity means recognizing that wellness is shaped by more than personal effort. It is also shaped by access, opportunity, and the strength of the communities around us.
